Calrad Variac, Variable Output Tranformer, Metered 0-150V with Dual 2.7A Outputs
Here's a vintage Calrad VC6 metered variac. This unit will give you variable voltage. 0- 150V, from a standard 110v outlet. The unit has two outlets on the back, both are labeled 2.7A. It has a nice analog 0-150v meter on the front, an on/off switch, an overload protection fuse, and a red power indicator bulb. The bulb is burned out(confirmed with ohm meter) and I don't have a spare of this type in my parts bin. I've plugged the unit up and turned the knob up/down and the meter responds accordingly. I ran a couple of oscilloscopes off the unit while set at 110v. The unit is on the heavy side. Lots of copper inside I'm guessing, so the shipping is going to run $28 to any of the lower 48. But this does adjust the voltage output from 0 to 120 volts AC Great for Tube Radios that need a slow start for testing purposes when a renovation is completed. I DO NOT HAVE THE SPECS- IT WOULD NEED TO BE TAKEN APART This is not usable for Hand Tools or large motors. Use at your own risk. Also a Lamp testing receptacle to power up a radio without destroying the Power Transformer. Please look at the video below. From Superior Electric Co is this variable auto-transformer that is used. It is their Powerstat. 10 B-1128, 120 V input, output is 12uV to 132 V 2.25 A. It is 2-7/8 diameter, 2 inch long body, 3/8 fine thread mounting, and ¼ Dia. shaft for control. The electrical connections are ¼ push-on and solder lug. It has the dial plate also. I got this years ago for my electric train set but never used it. Weight is 2 pounds 1.5 Oz and will be boxed and sent at the 3 pound rate. No combined shipping on this item please.
