Here's a vintage Adjust-A-Volt variable transformer. Or Variac. Unlike most of the units you see, this one is in a handy case with a handle, cord wind up hooks, and an output meter. WOrks great. I did note the meter seems to be reading a bit higher than the actual output, although that's with no load. Smooth power adjust. Heavy little bugger to be aware of shipping. Offered is a Vintage Mid Century Era Staco Adjust A Volt Variac. The housing measures approx. 12" by 8" And stands 7" tall. This unit weighs approx. 15 pounds. It is in good vintage condition with some minor surface blemishes consistent with age& usage. This unit accommodates a total of six fuses. Please view the photo of the rear of the unit and notice that one fuse will need to be replaced. It is the one labeled DC. The meters on front all move except the center DC meter. I've tested this one and it works fine. The cord does have a cut in one part(see photo) But that does not prevent this item from working. However, if you're going to be using this a lot, you may want to at least put some electrical tape over that spot. Please note that this model 500B does not accommodate three-pronged plugs, only two-pronged.
