The pictures tell the story. This Technipower W5MT3A autotransformer or"variac" is in excellent condition. It has been fully tested and works flawlessly with very good calibration of both meters. The only flaws are slight shelf wear on the feet and a smudge or two that I didn't bother to scrub too vigorously but otherwise it's pretty much good as new. Save for the fact that I don't have the original packaging. Please check my feedback and bid with confidence that you're dealing with a straight shooter. Buyer pays actual shipping costs for 15 pounds from zip code 95501. There will be no extra handling fee but trust that the unit will be very well packed. In good cosmetic condition with a few scratches and paint chips but this case is so thick there can be no dents. The power cord and on/off switch are fine. The outlet has been upgraded to include a proper ground to the case. Four photographs show the condition of the Variac from all sides. One photograph show the Variac adjusted to the full voltage of 138.5VAC and the circuit tester verifies all three wires are connected properly. Dayton, Ohio, Type 2520B, That is in excellant condition, undamaged and shows almost no signs of use, that is presently wired for use on 120 Vac 50/60 Hz(0-140 VAC output) that could be used on 240 Vac(0-280 VAC Output, at 10 amperes, either way. It could be placed between the line and the primary of the high voltage transformer of a maximum legal input ham amplifier, in order to adjust the plate voltage, or used to slowly bring up vintage tube gear. Rated at 115 vac 400 ~, 5A It is clearly marked'do not use below 400 ~' Hz) Please be sure you really want it for 400Hz power systems and understand that is what it's designed for. You can not use it with 50 Hz or 60 Hz. And certainly not DC. If you want to do the math to scale the 400 Hz flux to 60 Hz, the voltage would have to be derated to 15% 17.25 vac 60 Hz vs. 115 vac 400 Hz, but the impedance, core loss and magnetizing current would be wrong.and the terminal board is marked' do not use below 400 ~' Perhaps this is a legitimate time to call something'rare' O) Did I mention it's marked' do not use below 400 ~' 5 terminals with'1' and'4' being the normal 0-115 input.
