There is one minor issue that doesn't affect the lens' performance-during re-assembly after cleaning, the helical focusing threads were started at a different point than original(if you've ever disassembled helical eyepieces, you'll know what I mean) This made the original white and red focusing reference dots off by approximately two marks-new dots were made in the correct locations. This has absolutely no effect on the lens' use or performance, only where the"0" reference point is on the focusing dial. The bottom lens of the eyepiece(one that inserts in the top of the microscope) looks good. The top glass lens of the eyepiece has scratches and tiny pits(they do NOT show up in the photo) A guide fiber or hair has been internally attached(about rim to center) and can be seen when viewing. The correction collar and specimen protection now work as intended. The lenses have been cleaned and examined under magnification. There are no scratches. Dings, or signs of delamination. This objective yields a clear image with great resolution.

Aus Jena ( Zeiss ) Laboval 4 Microscope
This Laboval 4 scope is clean. Functions as designed, has factory complement of objective lenses and new bulb plus two new spares. It does have a cover.it has"yellowed" but I will include it as well. It is in better condition than the scope that I use daily, but I am used to what I have been using. I will sell as is, because I do not have time to be fiddling with returns and the like. I tried to take enough photos so you can make your own determination on the condition. Last two photos are of each of the occular lenses. I did wrap a few turns of vinyl tape at the base of the power cord because of a 3/4 inch split in the outer insulation. I assume that split is a result of the cord being at an angle to the base during use. There is absolutely no issues with powering on.it functions as designed. I looked at a slide with each objective ... moreand each provided a crisp clear image. All seemed shipshape to me, but, again, I will sell"as is" to avoid pain and suffering.
