I'm not an expert on these at all so I'm trying to explain them the best I can. I tested the microscope and it seems to work well. I can get objects to view in all lens and can bring them into focus. The light works. This is a heavy metal scope. It measures 16" tall and 7" deep. It is missing 2 feet on the bottom and the nosepiece has a little play in it but it didn't effect the function of the microscope. Payment is expected within 3 days of auction's end via paypal only. All the motors for the objective turret and the field and aperture diaphragms work properly. Without the controller we could not test the stage but all three axes turn easily by hand. Deployed military clinical laboratory field use, in the 1970s with the limited production ending toward the end of that decade. The serial number of the microscope listed here suggests it was built c. 1974. This is one of those rare Chinese products not designed for inexpensive export. It was designed for. Perhaps the most powerful component of Chinese society, the Chinese Army and thus designed and built to an unusually high standard. This is a superb Orthoplan microscope with a trinocular head and a pair of Periplan x8 GG M eyepieces. Which can both be focussed and moved to accommodate the viewer's intra ocular distance. Below the head is a slot for filters, analysers. etc There is a 5 place turret for objectives(It takes 170 mm corrected objectives with the nornal RMS threads) They are a x2.5 Pl, a x6.3 Pl, a x10 achromat, a x25 Pl Apo and a x40 Pl Apo. The stage has a clip for holding slides and with its drop down controls moves freely, but without any play. The condenser, has a flip in top lens of 0.9 na for x10 or more work and when slid out of the light path is suitable for work with lower power objectives. The condenser can be centred, using the two thumb screws at approximately 45 degrees to the microscope at the front of the condenser. There is a built-in ... moresubstage iris diaphragm. The transmitted illumination from the 12 Volt,100 watt lamphouse emerged from the lens below the stage, where filters can be used. The microscope can be run on 110 Volts to 240 mains supply. The light is controlled be a switch on the transformer. The focussing is smooth and without any play. The course focussing being rather heavier than the fine. The camera on top is a Nikon Coolpix 4500. Which is screwed into a Periplan 10x/18 High eyepoint M eyepiece, which has a red dot, signifying its suitability for photography. This is a very simple set-up for really good quality photomicrography. All of the optical and mechanical components are in excellent condition and the microscope has plainly had little use. I would much prefer that the winner collects it from Didcot. Oxfordshire, or I could deliver it for 50p per mile. If it has to be sent anywhere by courier or otherwise, it will need to be packed with great care, which will cost about £20 plus the transportation. As I have to put a price down to satisfy eBay, I'll estimate £40 for postage and packing within the U.K. and £120 anywhere else in the world, but the final price will depend on

It was new and the condition I would describe is"as new" There are no scratches or damages of any kind. The metal framework has a sturdy stage. It is electric with an on/off switch for the light. It includes 3 different magnifications(objective power) 4X. 10X. And 40X. I removed them to take a photo. They easily screw off and on. It has a monocular head which rotates 360 degrees with two different lenses the magnification strengths are: WF 10X and 25X. It has a single lens condenser with disc diaphragm It comes with a wall plug adapter. Very nice. It works great and comes from a smoke free home.
