Horiba CO Laser Gas Beam Detector Cell NDIR Sensor Module Optics Assembly Part
This is an odd one! The sensing element of this detector is carbon monoxide gas itself. This is a high range sensor meaning that the% CO inside the cell is Higher then the high range sensor. It was part of combustion efficiency regulator for a gas fired power plant. It has sapphire windows that pass mid IR light. And internally it is two cells with a precision pressure transducer that measures the pressure change between the cells. When mid IR light passes through it, the gas inside absorbs the light heats up and expands This makes it give a large signal for a very small percentage of gas. Besides it's original use it could be used as a laser energy detector for mid IR chemical lasers or other uses. If desired you could refill the gas cells with another gas to make it detect other wavelengths. It is a very high quality part that is difficult ... moreto find. This is a OPA-SCOPE Model 20005 Epidiascope that was manufactured by the Projection Optics Co Inc. In the USA. It is a large commercial or educational machine that can also be used as a stylish and funky spot lamp. Its serial number is 99801 and it measures 60 cm high, 34 cm wide and 54 cm deep. The machine is fully functional and operates on the 240 volt, 50 Hz power supply and has a 1000 watt lamp. It can handle objects from postage stamp size to 9 inch by 10 inch pictures and documents. The only minor defects are that the stay which holds the hood open is broken and there is some slight discolouration to the lower edge of the mirror which may clean off but I have not attempted to do this. The microscope is missing the two slide holders. The backside of the mirror is missing most of its finish. But is not broken. The optics appear to be ok. I have no way to really test them. The base is cast iron and the rest of the body is brass. The eyepiece is numbered 10. The two lens are numbered 29221 and 28817. The numbers are hard to read. I think I have it right. The name on the base is faded but still readable. The lens swivels easily and snaps in place. The hole scope body rotates back and forth to find your comfort zone. The eyepiece rides up and down on its track easily. Fully extended it is 12 3/4" high. Front-to- back is 5 7/8" and it is 4 1/8" wide. Questions. Comments, concerns. These Appear to be for a child. They measure 5" across the front of the frame. And 4 5/8" to 5" between the temples. They are old prescription bifocal sunglasses. The temples are marked C. O. C. 5 1/2 Alum. witch I believe stands for Continental Optics Co. The bridge is marked C.O.C. 1/10 12K. G.F. 20. The bridge runs across the top of the lenses and includes the hinges, while the aluminum part runs across the front of the lenses and is riveted to the hinges. The lenses are mounted thru both parts of the frame with very small screws and nuts. The lenses are very clear. I will include a white soft vinyl case.
