This is a very nice lens, that I have personally used for several years-if you need one, this is a good choice. There is one minor issue that doesn't affect the lens' performance-during re-assembly after cleaning, the helical focusing threads were started at a different point than original(if you've ever disassembled helical eyepieces, you'll know what I mean) This made the original white and red focusing reference dots off by approximately two marks-new dots were made in the correct locations. This has absolutely no effect on the lens' use or performance, only where the"0" reference point is on the focusing dial. I will offer a three-day inspection period from day of receipt-if you're not satisfied with the item, contact me within three days to arrange a return/refund. Nikon P Berg tilting eyepiece tube assembly. Compatible with Nikon series SMZ 800. 1000, and 1500 microscope systems. This unit is unique in that it tilts from ~0 to 30 degrees. And offers two vertical height options for the eyepieces. The prism assemblies swivel 180 degrees, allowing the user to better position the eyepieces at a comfortable height. In used. But clean, functional condition. The exterior has a few faint scrapes and one small paint chip on one of the prism covers. As indicated by the pictures, the interior is clean and in perfect working order. All motions are free and smooth; there is no indication of mechanical woe. The optics are clean and clear, free of haze, mold, grease, goop, etc. I can see no sign of coating failure such as orange-peel or de-lamination. The mirrored surfaces appear bright and clear. Working Vintage AO Spencer Microscope 321958. ERB& and GRAY This lot includes the two objective lenses shown in the photos(an AO Spencer 4x N.A. 12 ∞. Cat. 1075, and a COOKE 5X 0-15 A3938) and the Eyepiece also shown in the photos. Using a sticky not that I wrote on with pencil I was able to resolve the graphite on the sticky note with and without a flashlight. The image quality is good but there is some dirt/particles in the lenses. The coarse adjustment knob and the fine adjustment knob both work(although I mainly used the coarse knob.
