All the moving parts work like butter! Even the ORIGINAL power cord is in very good condition with no breaks. Cuts, etc! Optics are clear and clean looking and the image of the penny I took with my camera is threw the eye pieces. A unique combination of 8 power binoculars combined with the ability to use the binoculars as an 18 power microscope in the field or even in the lab. It has a built in light to provide a bright viewing area even if it's a cloudy day with no sun available. The light is a common type 233 bulb powered by 2 AA batteries(included) If you are out hunting. The binoculars will help you find your game and if you find something on the trail that you would like to get a closer look at, everything you will need is contained in this handy 11x8x4 inch case. Just seat the binoculars in the cradle, flip on the light switch or turn the microscope into the sun so it hits on the white stage platform and take a look. It operates easily with the large focus wheel built into the cradle. The unit is complete with all of the accessories you need. There are tweezers ... moreand another tool to help arrange the specimen on the staging platform. The platform also is adjustable to allow for the best view of the object. If you wear glasses the rubber binocular eyecups can be rolled back to allow for better viewing. If this unit was ever used it was very slightly as there is no damage of any kind. The closest thing to damage is that two of the 3 small, plastic specimen boxes are missing but the one that is there looks like it has never been used. There is also some slight pitting on the chrome latch of the case. You know the name Bushnell to mean quality when it comes to optics. This was manufactured in 1974 and is highly collectible. This is a clean. Little-used microscope kit in its original box with original styrofoam inserts and what appears to be an original plastic bag around the scope. Made in Japan and sold by Tasco. In very good shape, with the one issue being two hairline cracks, both shown in the photos. Cracks do not affect operation. Magnifies 50X, 100X, 300X. There are no instructions. Box labeled"4 cover glasses and 4 blank labels" has labels, but no cover glasses. Original box in very good condition with no holes, tears, or loose flaps. I looked through the lens and the field of vision was clear, with little to no dust accumulation. This is a usable microscope. Nikon took the concept many steps ahead and produced one of the most sophisticated portable microscopes ever to be made. It is considered by many the best field microscope of all times. Production ceased in the late 1960s. Nikon H was also the first microscope to operate in space. During the first Skylab mission of NASA in 1973-4. The paint seems to have been repaired in one area on the right side of the ocular tube. The stage clips, clips holder and one of the tiny strap hooks below the ocular are missing. The leather case has been repaired in the past with the two strap hooks being efficiently glued back in place by some sort of strong solder. Because of these issues I list this microscope with a low BIN price of about $1000 less than the current value of a microscope of this kind in very good condition and with the original box. However. We found this great piece at an auction in Oklahoma. A wonderful piece to add to your collection or a great starter set for your children and grand children to begin their scientific journey. Signalling Equipment Ltd from Potters Bar. Middlesex, England is the maker of this item. This black and silver microscope not only comes with the original cardboard box. It is housed in a beautiful tongue and groove wooden box(could be mahogany) It has a convenient handle on top of the wooden box for carrying. It also has a key to lock the box and rubber feet on the bottom. The wooden box has a single drawer with glass slides. One slide is missing. The box has felt covered supports to house the microscope securely. One of the bottom supports in the box is missing(see picture) Otherwise the box is in very good shape with the normal wear associated with ... moreuse and age. The box comes with the key and does lock and unlock the box. The cardboard box and the wooden box measure 10 1/4" tall, 4 1/2" deep, 4" wide. The microscope is 8 1/4" fully extended. 7 1/4" when closest to slide. Adjustable, tilts back and forth for viewing comfort. Has two clips to hold slide being viewed. Mirror tilts and swivels and is in good shape. Microscope has a few minor paint chips, associated with use and age(see pictures) Microscope is pretty stout, alone it weighs approximately 1 1/2 lbs. All in all, it is in great shape. Also accompanying the microscope and original box are five boxes of prepared slides; textile fibers. Plants, animals, pollen& spores, microorganism. We didn't try every slide, some are harder to see than others, probably due to age(either mine or the slides, ha ha) We did put a new onion skin on one of the slides from the wooden box and the microscope worked beautifully. We didn't polish the box. We try to leave everything in its original condition for the collector and non-collector. It would be beautiful polished and cleaned.
