Ernst Leitz GmbH Wetzlar Microscope #529769
Up for bid is a Ernst Leitz GmbH Wetzlar microscope with these numbers on the frame 529769 and below that 6650-12-120-7525. Don't know much about it. Other than it was originally from Germany and was given to me by my former boss when he moved back to Germany. It has two lenses, both are marked E. Leitz Wetzlar. One is a 45:1 A.065 and the other is 10:1 A.025. It looks like it has room for 4 lenses on the head. The top eye piece swivels. It has a light mounted under the table, the power cord has an on/off switch, but the plug is not a US plug, it has two round prongs on it, I assume it is a German plug. The microscope looks to be in good shape, and all the adjustment knobs seem to work ok. I've never tried to see if the light works. The case is in decent shape, it has one bad spot on the rear, it is missing the handle, and the lock ... moreis unlocked and I have no keys. I did clean the outside of the box when it was given to me last year. The inside of the box looks really good, all the padding looks to be intact and there are three removable holders, there is also a chart of some kind on the inside of the door. As I said, I don't know anything about it other than he said it worked, but I've never been able to test it, so it is being sold"As Is. I don't really think I can answer many questions about it, unless there is something that you want me to look for on it, or you want more pictures, but I will reply to all with question whether I can answer them or not. I am not anything close to being a scientist so it is completely out of my league to give a really good description. In my novice opinion only all of the lens are in acceptable condition. They may need to be cleaned. We did shine a flash light on the mirror with a dirty cue tip over the hole and were able to see an image. Other than this the item is untested. Basically I wouldn't know how to thoroughly test this item. Both of the eye pieces that you look in slide out and are removable. Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Microscope- circa 1960's I am not an expert on microscopes. But this one belonged to my father when he was in med school, so the mid 1960's sounds about right, but it could easily be older. From my research on similar microscopes, here's what I think this is: Labolux. Trinocular biological brightfield benchtop, mid-1960s) Earlier Labolux stands have a rounded back side of the base, but later versions have three straight sides of the base like the Dialux" The scope is in excellent condition. Everything seems to work fine, all knobs move smoothly. The black enamel has one small chip on the back and seems to be peeling in two small places size about 1/2" It has been wrapped in plastic so it has stayed clean. There are two oculars that have no markings(included, see photos) You can view either through ... morethe top singular or side dual oculars. I think all the parts are there, but I'm not sure about the base. It looks like there is a mounting hole that may have fit a light source which I don't have. There is no case for the scope, but I am an expert packer and will make sure it ships in a well padded box. This will ship via UPS ground. I will ship within 2 days of completed checkout. The 3 Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Objectives include: 1- 3; 1– 6L; 1- 1/12 OEL Combined Weight in Case: 16.5 lbs. 7.485 kg) +++++ From the estate of a local medical doctor. This microscope set likely dates to the mid-1950’s, and it looks great! No cracks. Dings, dents or repairs showing anywhere on the microscope. All dials work as they should. Mirror is clear and in perfect shape. I am not familiar with the proper usage of this instrument but was able to focus it clearly under the 3x objective and suspect the others work fine. Inside the case was a Bausch& Lomb ... morelight for the microscope: it works fine but appears to be much older than the microscope and could use a new wire cord. Also inside the case were two small bottles of Immersion Oil and three empty plastic cases for the objectives: one of these cases is broken. There were two round. Plastic filters in an envelope, an instruction sheet, a sheet detailing the objectives and eyepieces, and a box of about 70 glass slides from Canadian Laboratory Supplies. The case was issued with the microscope and has“350503” on an inner edge. It is in excellent condition: no tears. Splits, cracks, loose parts or issues. Leather handle on top is solid, hinge and clasps work properly. Nameplate shows distributor of this microscope in Toronto, Ontario. Someone will enjoy owning this vintage microscope! A Vintage Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Dual Head SM-LUX Microscope. A high quality German engineered instrument that is very handy for quick two person observations. The illumination is a variable intensity light rated at 117 V and 60 Hz and it comes with three objectives. 40x, 10x, and 4x, while the ocular lenses are Periplan NF 10x. Excellent fully functioning condition with no cosmetic issues and nothing damaged or broken. It has sat a long time unused so it should have a professional cleaning and lubrication but that is the worst that can be said about it. The focus adjustment is super smooth and silky with no gaps or slippage. The individual ocular focus adjustment rings are sticky however and will need cleaning and lubrication before use. $46.00 shipping. Includes three sets of eyepieces-2 x(G8x) 2 x(G18x) 2 x(G12.5x) There are also three sets of further lenses-4x. 8x, 12x Note: The 12x has a small lense missing from the inside. The two wooden boxes that I have pulled out slide back into the top of the case. One hold the objectives. The other has a sliding top and contains a little red box plus a screw. Complete with all the accessories that you see here. Look carefully at the pictures. All are Leitz Wetzlar items as far as I can tell. ... moreComes in its original wood box with key. Outside of box could use a light staining or polishing. But it is just gorgeous. Please bid only if you know how to operate these microscopes. I am describing it to you.
