Hi. You're looking at a USED, but in really nice condition EDMUND SCIENTIFIC Microscope with box. It is a 300X power and has a 10X eye piece. There is also a condensing wheel to adjust how much light you want to come through slide and a knob to limit how far down the objective lens can go so you don't break the specimen slide( see close up pic. of knob) The microscope is made of metal. Scope moves really smooth. The power on the objective lens's are 5x 15x and 30x. Box is wooden with dove tail joints. With microscope eye lens extended all the way up scope is 11 1/2" high. Here is a very nice beginner monocular microscope with a 10X eyepiece objective lens(not removable) and 3 different lenses on the turret-4X. 10X and 40X. If you multiply the lenses. You can see that you will get 40, 100 and 400 times magnification. This works OK on 40 and 100 power. Not so well on 400. That does not mean the microscope is broken because it is an inexpensive microscope and that is what you could expect. This type sells new for about $100.00 I believe. It does not allow you to remove the eyepiece. And a threaded screw prevents the viewer from cracking a lens while focusing. Prevents the stage slide from touching the lens. This is a great kid-proof feature. The eyepiece swivels as shown in the photo. Metal construction but weighs only 4 lbs. Long 3-prong electrical cord. The unit is very clean. Cosmetically(looks new) and the ... morelight works OK as well, but is not super bright as on some microscopes. From a pet-free. Smoke-free, dry home. Happy Bidding!
