Product Description The Volpi fiber optic illumination systems are among the finest produced. The Intralux 6000 was a top-of-the-line illuminator. It featured a three-position lamp intensity switch alternating between two direct connections to the transformer secondaries(no resistors in series for reducing intensity) The middle position switches off the mains supply. A very quiet cage fan is positioned immediately behind the lamp socket and provides very ample cooling even with the higher intensity selected. Additional regulation of the lamp output is possible using a helical wedge that reduced the amount of light to the end of the fiber bundle. A special dichroic heat filter is interposed between the lamp and the fiber bundle. In addition. There is a slot on the top of the unit for reception of special filter carriers.
