There are definately some abvious ones(as seen in photos) The legs do have some noticeable dings/scratches, and the locking wheels for both the lens and legs show some signs use. Not they are scratched up or anything, but they do have some gunk in between the cracks. Nothing serious though. For how old this item is, ITS IN GREAT SHAPE!

Vintage Leitz Polarizing(Petrographical) Microscope circa 1924 A 1926 Leitz catalog identifiesthis as a Leitz model III M Polarizing microscope. The suffix“M” denotes“mineralogical“ It has a cast and machined steel frame.Painted black, in excellent condition. Many other parts are lacquered brass. The lacquer is well preserved, but notperfect. Coarse rack-and-pinion, and fine focus work easily, smoothly, and evenly,as does the rack-and-pinion motion for the condenser. The catalog describesthis particular condenser apparatus as“Simple Illumination Apparatus c” employingthree lenses, with the top lens(N.A. 1.0) in a“swing-out“ arrangement” andthe catalog also lists an attachable diaphragm at extra cost– this microscopehas the“c apparatus” as there shown, but does not have the then optionaldiaphragm. The Polarizer and the Analyzer are of substantial ... moresize- they areprisms made of optically clear calcite, and they are still clear. I see no black lines in the calcite(as one sooften does with vintage calcite prisms) Cross’d, they really give extinctionwell! Optically clear calcite(Iceland Spar) isscarce, and very expensive now- polarizing microscopes made much more recentlyuse either Polaroid filters or have to charge huge four digit prices forcalcite prisms. The serial number dates it at1924. As does the Leitz paper card in the door of the cabinet- however, theserial number of the instrument is 220792, while that on the top of the cabinetdoor, and on the door card, is 225414- this is probably because a school boughtseveral of these for class use, and people did not always put each microscopeback in its exact original cabinet. There are two sliders for the Bertrandlens; one for the lens itself, and the other for three optional fixed diaphragmapertures, to select individual grains for conoscopic study, etc. There is aslider for the analyzer, which is of clear calcite, like the Polarizer. Vintage Early Leitz Wetzlar Laborlux Binocular Biological Microscope With Case
I'm having to put this scope back up for auction due to a miss-listing. This time I think I have it right. Up for auction is a vintage early Leitz Wetzlar Laborlux Binocular Biological Microscope with a'FS' style head. This is still considered one of the best bench scopes ever produced and compare directly to the Wild M20& Zeiss GFL models. I don't have a transformer to plug the chord into so don't know if the lamp will work for sure. Those are easy to find on here. Substage condenser on this scope is a'Bereck' two diaphram model which is the best obtainable for all general observations up to an NA = 1.00 without the oil immersion cap. It does come with it's wooden case though it has some corner wear and the lock device had to be removed. It comes with Leitz Wetzlar lenses 170/ 3.5/0.10. 170/0.17 45:1 A ... more0.65, 170/0.17 25/0.50, 170/ 10/0.25 I also found a extra 1/12 Oel A 1.30 100:1 lens in the case. Lenses all look good. Here's a vintage microscope accessory. Some sort of objective adapter for utilizing the Ultropak epi-illumination system, made by Leitz of Germany probably in the late 1940's.
