Zeiss Stereo Microscope Transmitted Light Base w/ Two Stage Plates
This is an excellent condition. Zeiss transmitted light base with two frosted glass plates and original removable stage clips included, for the Zeiss Stereo Microscope Systems. The two frosted plates are mint, like new. The base fits the L and LO standard table stands. It can also be set under any other stereo microscope with the light directed down the back small covered clear glass opening. The light bounces off a couple of mirrors, one clear and one soft matt, internally and up through the stage plate. The base, as indicated, also comes with the two stage clips holding a slide if desired on either stage plate which are 84mm in diameter. The condition, as mentioned, is excellent. This is the last complete one I have; there are no more. This matched pair of lenses came off of a stereo microscope. With the average microscope you get a set of 10x. But I needed extra magnifying power. So I got mine with two sets of lenses 1 pair of 10x and 1 matched pair of 16. Well, the pair of 16 X are so sharp and beautifully wide field that when I sold the Nikon microscope I decided to keep the 16 X, just in case I ever needed to use a microscope again. It has been years since I set these aside, and it appears that the things that I'm studying now-a-days will not require a microscope. The base is 5" x 6" x 1" The base is solid and very heavy. The arm has some knicks on it but freely slides on the mount. The mount where the microscope mounts articulates 180 degrees in the same direction as the arm. On the the fine tune adjustment knob it is made of two separate pieces and they spin independently. Also that same fine adjustment knob does not have much resistance when turning.
