Zeiss Microscope POL #66 Rotating 360° Graduated Stage w/ New Slide Clips
This is a Carl Zeiss Polarizing Microscope#66 Pol rotating and 360 degree graduated stage reading to 1/10 degree by either of two veneer scales. The stage is in very nice working condition. The stage has been professionally taken apart. Cleaned and relubricated. The fine knob rotation, as on all#66 Pol stages by Zeiss after this many years does not work as the internal bushing breaks down and disintegrates into crumbs. There are absolutely no replacements available. All broken down material has been removed. Cleaned and both ball bearing races have been cleaned and relubricated with Zeiss factory oil allowing the stage to otherwise work fine. The knob is really not important and I frankly never new any geologist who used it as it results in very slow stage rotation. The stage now rotates freely as it should with detent"click stops" ... moreevery 45 degrees and stage lock in any position as desired. Works great. Comes with four stage mounting screws for attachment to any standard Zeiss upright microscope and two new Zeiss made removable slide or thin section hold down clips. The Pol stage has been factory drilled and taped for adding mechanical stages as well as the Federoff Universal three or four axis stage.
