This is an American Optical Phase Contrast Condenser for a Series 10 microscope. It consists of the mount. Catalog#1246, and the condenser, Catalog#1243. This is the intermediate working distance condenser(the standard condenser is Catalog#1242) The same annuli are used with the intermediate working distance condenser as are used with the standard condenser. The microscope has a binocular photohead with a projector viewing screen attachment or photo tube for a camera. The head has two(2) 10X WF eyepieces. AO catalog number 176. The light source rheostat is not built into the microscope but is an attachment. It has a"swing out" condenser and the light source in built into the base of the microscope. The microscope has a 4X. 10X, 45X and 100X oil objective, the older" cone shaped" style. The paint finish is in great condition and the stage is smooth with no blemishes of signs or excessive wear. There is a spare bulb and the tool to replace the bulbs- rare find in itself. The original manual/ instructions are with the microscope with the catalog number( ... moreXL10BUQW) and serial number(817040) written on the cover. There is also the original case. Which is the traditional black and light gray color, with a red interior, excellent condition.
