This auction is for a vintage flexible fiber optic light guide made by American Optics Company out of Southbridge Massachusetts. Formed in 1892 they were at one time the largest optical company in the world. From my research I baleive this item to be from the late 60's to early 70's. This item is in fantastic condition as you can see from the pictures. The last picture I put a lighter near the other end of the chord and you can see it still works perfectly fine. The condenser is approx. 39 mm in diameter and fits cylinder sleeve condenser holder used in number of older Leitz Wetzlar microscopes from black enamel era including popular SM stands. I have had this item in my personal collection for many years and now it is time to make another fellow Leitz Collector happy! This is a very unique and rare condenser.
