This condenser is in like new condition with no scratches or mars in the glass or paint surfaces. It contains a 5 position turret which has phase rings for 4X. 10X, 20X, and 40X magnifications as well as a bright field position with an aperture diaphragm. Olympus BX Microscope Phase Condenser
You are bidding on an Olympus BX series phase condenser which was made by a former Olympus dealer– Leeds Precision. This handy device has a two position slider built into the condenser and allows for the user to do 10X and 40X phase on their BX microscope. There is some installation necessary to get this condenser installed on the microscope. But the directions are included with this device. Also, the slider could be removed and this condenser could also be used as a simple bright field Abbe condenser. The Leeds catalog number for this device is LBX-450P. The dovetail mount on the bottom is 47 mm. It is in fine like new working condition with no scratches or marks. The aperture diaphragm functions smoothly just like new. If it was been used, it was not used very much if at all. This phase contrast condenser has phase 10. 20, 40, and 100 stops as well as an open stop(0) for brightfield. It is listed as model U-PCD2 only because that is the manual that was with the condenser. It may NOT be a model U-PCD2 model and on page 6 of the manual it refers to a DF setting on the turret which this condenser does not have. There are no markings on the condenser to indicate model number. The original wooden box has the top veneer that is lifting from the surface as shown in the picture. Otherwise it is in good shape.
