SEVEN TELESCOPE LENSES, 2 ACHROMATIC OBJECTIVES, 5 DOUBLE CONVEX SIMPLE LENSES
I am continuing to sell off my surplus telescope stuff. This auction is for 7 telescope lenses. There is a 60mm diameter. 600mm focal length, f10 air spaced achromatic objective lens in a plastic cell, with dew cap. This lens was bought surplus, and the lenses are glass, but it is not fully color corrected. There is a small amount of color fringing around bright objects. The cell can be disassembled, so it might be possible to rotate the two lenses with respect to each other and correct this a little bit, but I have not tried. It would be a good lens for a kids toy telescope. The second lens is a 82mm diameter, 1028mm focal length, f12.5 cemented glass achromatic. This lens was also bought surplus and has the same color fringing problem as described above. However, since it is cemented it would be much more difficult to try and correct it. ... moreIn theory you could dissolve the cement, rotate the two lenses with respect to each other, and re-cement them, but that's a lot of work and there may or may not be any improvement! I used this lens for many years on a terrestrial telescope where color fringing was not much of a problem. The last five surplus lenses are double convex, 18mm diameter, 50mm focal length, glass lenses. I opened one package to show possible defects that could be encountered. You can see in the photos a small chip on the edge of the opened lens. The other four are still sealed in their original packages. Because these are all surplus/experimental lenses, they are being sold"as is" no returns. Please look at the pictures carefully before bidding. Payment by PayPal only, and shipments to the USA only.
