The all Leitz optical components consist of a Periplan GF 10X ocular and four objectives: 3.5X NA 0.10. 10X NA 0.25, 45X NA 0.65, and an oil immersion 100X NA 1.30. The condenser is on a rack and pinion focusing mount; it has a swing out filter tray. The iris diaphragm of the condenser works smoothly. The microscope comes with a functioning(see photos) Leitz substage lamp that fits a pin socket in the base; it is powered by a conventional 110 V source. The microscope is fitted with a mechanical stage. The fine and coarse focus motions are smooth, as are the mechanical stage motions. WWII Leitz Wetzlar Ortholux Microscope 4 Obj Turret + Objectives Brass
This is an AMAZING set. Straight from Germany during WWII. This has a serial number of 360792, dating it to 1941-1945. It was owned by a doctor and medical school professor by the name of Ceelen. The microscope itself appears to be in excellent condition as it has very little cosmetic wear and no apparent damage. The electrical cord is a European model consisting of 3 prongs in a straight line, so I have no way to test this. If I need to go out and buy a travel converter, please let me know. Based on what I saw in the book(included) this appears to be for polarized light. The light source is at the back of the base. The light then shoots across the inside bottom and reflects up into where the slides go. This set comes with ALL KINDS of WWII era accessories including many different objectives. Some of which are brass and some of which are ... moreused for/with oil. As I'm sure you can tell by now, I am not a scientist of any kind and I don't really know that much about this item. All of the accessories appear to be in good, working order but this is used and some have normal use wear. Some heavier than others. This set includes the following, as far as I can describe: E.
