I believe the intention of this feature was to lower the intensity with the press of a button thus eliminating having to manually adjust the intensity when switching from the dark field back to the bright field. For sale is a WYKO trinocular head.Tube,with a special optico-electronic attachment. Excellent condition.This probably comes from a WYKO Interferometer Profiler or Surface Tester. This I do not know for sure.There is a seemingly Infrared filter in the horizontal slider.The electronic attachment can move horizontally,its movement being controllable with the a thumb screw with a pretty fine movement. The big optical attachment has a focal distance of 10.5cm.The main body is made by Nikon.It has a standard Nikon 49mm dovetail and fits the Nikon Alphaphot,Labophot,Labophot2,Optiphot and the Nikon S-series of microscopes. Nikon S Microscope Incident Epi Illuminator with binocular Head and Focusing
This is a near complete incident light microscope. All it needs is a few objectives. Eyepieces and a stand. It consists of three pieces: The binocular head, vertical EPI illuminator and a course/fine focusing rack with 4 objective turret. It has been fully tested and everything(optically and mechanically) work perfectly. The tube diameter for the column is ~24.5mm. Dovetail diameter for the various parts are all 49mm. Lamp works but needs a 6 volt power source. Also the vertical illuminator filter holder has a rotatable polarizer filter installed(condition is perfect)
