Wild Heerbrugg Microscope M20 Drawing Tube
You are bidding on a Wild Heerbrugg Microscope Drawing tube. This drawing tube is considered for parts because the inside element is dirty or is scratched. The drawing tube still works as it should but the smudge/scratch is visible in the image. The only other flaw is that the head of the screw that attaches the diopter adjustment is damaged is very nipped. This does not affect the functionality of the diopter adjustment nor does it affect the magnifcation adjustment. All other optical surfaces and prisms are in excellent condition. Would make a great restoration project for someone that has a broken or damaged one. Not sure if the internal element can be cleaned as I have not disassembled the tube. This is surplus stock from a local university laboratory. Everything has been in storage for several years but all equipment was believed to be in good working order when put into storage. I have had some trouble finding information on this particular item. Especially since there is no model number on it. However, from the Leitz Wetzlar MM6 Instructions Manual this appears to be a Rotatable Polariser slide unit for Interference Contrast, it attached between the Xenon lamp source and the Leitz Nosepiece Vertical Illuminator. However. The one shown in the manual Says ... moreonly IC on the side where this one says ICR? The glass(appears to be a prism) slides in to use or out as needed. There is an opening that holds a sliding filter. The filter that is included seems to be clear or maybe UV glass, i cannot detect any color or magnification changes no matter how I look through it. The larger sliding section with the prism like glass measures 42.6mm x 32.6mm. The smaller filter slide is 33.5mm x 3.9mm. In case this may also be useful to some, the main body of the unit is 50.65mm front to back not including the bayonet mount, and the tube is 59.9mm in diameter. Please view the photographs.
