Antique Cast Iron Microscope Photographic Lens Assembly
I am guessing that the use for this apparatus was to take pictures of f microscope slides. It obviously was to be bolted to a st aging area and the n looked tho ugh. It is were placed o ver the table o f a microscope. And a light were shone up through a slide under the assembly, it would show a magnified view of the slide in the top eyepiece. Placing a camera over the lens, one could then take pictures of the magnified slide. The complete assembly has a screw on top lens. Over a barrel lens. The item is 3 7/8" tall. The base is 3 1/8" X 3 5/16" The barrel is 1 3/4" in diameter. It is not marked as to maker. There are stamped number on the bottom(56.35 and 26. On the interior top flan g e is the number 55.
