It has a 25mm diameter thread in order to accommodate the annular condenser assembly concentric with the central objective. Nikon S Microscope Incident Epi Illuminator with binocular Head and Focusing
This is a near complete incident light microscope. All it needs is a few objectives. Eyepieces and a stand. It consists of three pieces: The binocular head, vertical EPI illuminator and a course/fine focusing rack with 4 objective turret. It has been fully tested and everything(optically and mechanically) work perfectly. The tube diameter for the column is ~24.5mm. Dovetail diameter for the various parts are all 49mm. Lamp works but needs a 6 volt power source. Also the vertical illuminator filter holder has a rotatable polarizer filter installed(condition is perfect)

Here's a vintage microscope accessory. Some sort of epi-illumination control adapter probably for use with the Ultropak and similar systems, made by Leitz of Germany in the late 1940's. Please don't ask me to explain more about what it is or how it works because my knowledge of microscopy is rudimentary at best. I probably only know enough to be"dangerous" Whatever, you can see it for yourself, and it's in EXCELLENT overall condition, with perfectly functioning pivoting internal mirror and illumination focusing lens and diaphragm, a trio of objective quick mount rings, all nicely protected in its original padded wood box.
