This is a scarce mercury lamp housing and starter ballast for the venerable Leitz Aristophot micro photographic system The light can be used for transmitted light with an Arsitophot(as currently configured) or with a Leitz Orthoplan microscope; The lamp piece uses two clamps to attach to the back of the Arsitophot stand. The ballast plugs into the wall. The lamp unit plugs into the ballast. A brand new mercury bulb was installed just before I took it out of service. The light is very, very bright. This unit is heavy. The ballast weighs 35 pounds. And the light unit weighs about 12 pounds. Please allow for your shipping costs when you make your bid.
