This is a used Diagnostic Instruments HRD060 NIK 0.60X Coupler for attaching a digital camera with a Nikon“F” bayonet mount to a microscope. It is in excellent condition. The mount(top) end has a twist style parfocalizing adjustment with a travel of 10 mm that can be locked in place via a setscrew. With this adjustment retracted fully. The overall length of the coupler is 150 mm. It weighs 1 lb. 9 oz. The image diameter is 19 mm. The bottom end has an outside diameter of 23.1 mm. A small control box, and a 5240 Indexer/Drive, which is also labeled a Pacific Scientific 5240. For once I got the entire system which is nice because it allows me to hook it up and test it. If you flip the Shutter switch on the control box to ON the shutter opens. And it does it REALLY fast. If you press one of the filter numbers 1 through 8 the wheel moves to that position REALLY fast(there are no filters fitted I don’t believe) So as far as I can tell it is fully functional and ready for action. That is the extent of my testing and NO warranty is offered. However. IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days ... moreof receipt you may return it. This is a system that came with a microscope I recently purchased. It is surplus to my needs. I do not know of its operating condition. It is being listed for its parts only. It does have install and operational data that is included with it. The tube lens does fit the standard 23mm or thereabouts microscope tube. It comes with shown cords and keyboard included. The base is 5" x 6" x 1" The base is solid and very heavy. The arm has some knicks on it but freely slides on the mount. The mount where the microscope mounts articulates 180 degrees in the same direction as the arm. Mirrors are used for all of the imaging elements- there are no refractive components. As a consequence the objective is largely free of chromatic aberrations over a large spectral range. The objective is suitable for work from the near UV well into the IR region. It appears that the reflecting elements are silver(aluminum coating? I could not see any blemishes in the coatings. The aperture of the objective is very small(only about 5mm diameter) so the secondary mirror is minute. The initial magnification must be quite high- probably in the range of 50x to 75x. Unfortunately there is no nomenclature anywhere on the lens. It is probably intended for use on an IR imaging microscope of some sort.
