The Ortholux II illuminators will also fit the Diavert(Epivert) microscopes. These objectives will not work with later style Modulopak illuminators– the thread is incompatible and the design of the darkfield annular illumination path differs. Weird vintage microscope darkfield condenser with two different mounts!
THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE BIDDING FOR: Here's a strange one for you. A very unusual darkfield condenser, like none I'm familiar with, interchangeable within either a traditional 39.5mm tube mount to seat in a friction collar or an odd breech lock mount that must be very specific to one microscope system. I have no idea. No maker's name, but it has that unmistakable look and feel of something suggesting German manufacture, and I'm further guessing it's 1930's-1950's vintage. The one thing I know for sure is that it's VERY well constructed, with gorgeous nickel casing on the condenser itself. This is the sleeve mount version of the legendary Leitz Heine Phase Contrast condenser. Sleeve mount is the standard(old) Leitz. 39.5mm dia. centerable sleeve type. not the bayonet mount) The condenser was designed to use with Leitz Pv phase contrast objectives, however, in brightfield mode, and darkfield, it functions very well with many standard Leitz objectives, and, this can also be used with Leitz, or other makes, thought I have not tested very many) standard Zernike type phase contrast objectives. It gives truly wonderful darkfield and phase, and in a very interesting way, you can put it just in between phase and bright, or dark, for interesting contrasts. In that way, it is significantly more versatile than the Zernike phase contrast condenser. It is a lot of fun, and quite interesting to use. It has the removable top lens(which is ... moresometimes lost) with it, and is in very good, but not perfect condition- the one flaw I see is a little bit of loss of black paint around the top periphery of glass. You can see this on the image of the top with the screw-on auxiliary lens removed. The screw-on auxiliary lens is used when employing an oil immersion objective- it is unscrewed and stored for use with other lenses. In use, I see fine images, despite the fact that these bits of peripheral black paint on the glass are missing, and in all other respects I judge it perfect. I am starting it off low because of this small flaw. I do not perceive the flaw to cause any image problems, and I have used it with many different objectives. This is desirable! Pay Pal please. Zeiss microscope darkfield condenser oil 1.2/1.4 EUC dovetail mount Has a round dovetail mount that is 41.5mm at its thickest and about 38 mm at the base. Very clean and looks like it has hardly been used. Optics clean and free of scratches or delamination. Bottom of mount has some minor scratch marks just where it has been installed on a microscope but are very small and don't affect it having a flat mount.
