On the front are two large knobs; one for setting voltage(the gage has two scales, one from 0 to 10 and one from 0 to 20) and one for setting DIN/ASA(6/3.2 to 39/6300, with a fine-adjust coaxial knob) There's also a row of buttons; a power on/off button and buttons labeled with A, B, T, O, a pictogram of a lightning bolt, and! On the back of the unit is a female 22-pin rectangular connector, a large male coaxial connector, a power connector(110V, cord is included) a small female single-pin connector labeled with the same lightning bolt pictogram as the button on the front, and four pairs of female single-pin connectors(three of the pairs are labeled A, 6V and 12V) How the unit was tested: When ... morethe unit is plugged in and turned on the power indicator light comes on. The MC63 camera system. Developed for the Zeiss photomicrography photo ports, consisted of several modular building blocks. Central to the system was the housing with the electromagnetic shutter. The base of the housing clamped onto the photo tube of the microscope in which was installed a photographic projection ocular. The top of the unit carried the relay lens system and film back, usually a 35mm camera system or 4x5 large format back(special Polaroid backs were also available) Within the shutter body was a small beam splitter that diverted a small portion of the light to a photo-diode detector. This was connected(via ... morethe same cable as operated the shutter) to the control unit. The exposure was timed automatically after programming the ASA or DIN information into the control panel. Course steps were set via the upper knob. And fine steps via the lower knob(1, 0, +1) DIN settings between 6 and 37 were possible(ASA 3 to 4000) A simple release button actuated the shutter. There is also a‘test’ button that times the exposure without opening the shutter. Green LED indicates power‘ON’ position. Yellow LED next to shutter glows when shutter is open. And red LED when the‘test’ button is selected(yellow LED will glow for duration of timed exposure, but without exposing film) Control unit requires standard IEC type line cord(not included) And is currently set for 120v mains. 220v may also be selected, but fuse should be exchanged for proper protection. 35mm film Microscope Camera with Shutter control
Available here is a Zeiss C-35 microscope camera with external shutter system. The camera body was manufactured in West Germany by Carl Zeiss for use with standard 35mm film(24x36 negative size) for use with photomicrographic apparatus. It has a manual film advance lever that is perfectly tight and functional after many years of use. But the handle of the rewind knob has broken off. It does not prevent use though it makes rewinding a bit slower. There is an exposure counter on the underside of the camera body which is conveniently located for most installations of the camera. Except for the broken unwind knob all the mechanics of the camera are perfectly functional and in excellent condition. As it is a microscope camera it has only a sliding shutter but is additionally fitted with an external shutter system also by Zeiss. The shutter features ... morean easily selectable range of exposure times(1. 2, 4, 8, 15, 30, 60, 125) as well as the manual modes T and B. There is a fitting for a standard shutter release cable to one side of the exposure control dial, and the body of the shutter has a fitting which would be compatible with the view finders and photomicrographic adapter tubes put out by Zeiss. The shutter speeds have been tested and confirmed accurate, and all of the components of the shutter system are in good working order. This is not a stand alone unit and will require the appropriate Zeiss accessories if it is to be used as intended.
