Someone sold this to me as a long wave thermal lens. But they were wrong, it is a MIDDLE wave thermal camera lens. This is a large thermal telephoto type lens designed for MIDDLE wave 3-5um thermal IR imagers. Since all my current thermal imaging equipment is long wave, I cannot use it since the mid wave IR coatings are almost mirror like at long wave 7-12um wavelengths. It is 2-1/4 in the input side, and about 1-1/2 inch on the output side facing the FPA. The overall length of the lens tube is about 6 inches. The germanium content of the lens alone is worth the starting price. If you can use it, all the better!
