The main component is the stabilized XBO 75 xenon short arc lamp power supply manufactured by LEP. It was manufactured for distribution by Leitz dealer networks and carries the part number 99 00 15(incidentally. The same part number used when Zeiss dealers sold the'Zeiss' branded version) The power supply has a resettable LED elapsed time display used to monitor the running time of the lamp. Currently it is displaying 397.8 hours. The second element is an XBO 75 socket that is specific to the Leitz lamphouse 102Z. The third element is the xenon lamp which has about half its life. There is no opacity to the quartz envelope. The fourth element is the lamphouse 102Z. This lamphouse is functional as far as it exists. But ... moreis missing the interchangeable condenser element and heat filter. A spring-steel blade used to secure the condenser is also missing along with the retainer E-clip. The lamphouse has a special retainer block mounted on the inside of the cover plate that enables the lamphouse to be used in a position other than horizontal. It restricts the condenser carrier so it doesn't swing to one side when mounted vertically. The condensers carried a separate catalog number. Condition of the power supply and socket is excellent. The lamp starts as soon as the supply is switched on and there is no flicker. The lamphouse will need to have a collector installed. And should also have either a Calflex type reflective heat filter or a KG1 heat absorbing glass. All motions on the lamphouse work properly. There are a few minor scuffs in the finish of the lamphouse, and the cooling louvers at the top of the lamphouse have bleached.
