This is a special objective used with Wyko interferometric measuring microscopes. The included objective(marked PX 2.5) is mounted in a very large housing which in turn would fit the base of the microscope carrier. Located on the base of the housing is a Michelson interferometer beamsplitter with reference mirror. There are two knurled screws for tilting the reference mirror for fringe orientation and spacing adjustments. The entire interferometer portion can be removed(see last photo) The clamping sleeve allows orientation of the reference mirror about the optic axis of the microscope. It appears that the interferometer portion is mounted independently of the central objective. Via a small ... morepiezo drive. I believe this would allow for interferometric measurements by the phase-stepped interferometry method which typically encompasses a measuring range on the order of a few microns or less. Depending on the camera system and the resolution of the piezo drive. Heights of lambda/1000 can be resolved– monochromatic light being used. Changing the height of the interferometer beamsplitter relative to the objective lens would effectively alter the length of the reference beam– the distance between the test object and objective would remain unchanged. If the entire microscope were moved vertically by an additional piezo system, then white-light scanning interferometry could be combined with the phase-stepped method. There is a small BNC cable coming from the housing which I assume is for the piezo drive. I was not able to locate any information on this particular objective. Wyko recently merged with Veeco. Serial number of the objective is TP527016. Patent number 4.639,139. The objective is in great condition. But we are unable to test the piezo actuator. There is a small bump on the corner of the interferometer housing next to the right-hand reference adjustment screw

It is capable of work with incident light darkfield. Therefore the central objective is surrounded by an annular condenser/ mirror system to direct light onto the sample. This Tessar lens is similar in design and performance to the venerable Luminar by Zeiss. This 48mm f/4.5 lens features a RMS thread typical of microscope objectives. But also includes the rare adapter for RMS to 1.325" x 1/8" threads. The lens is in excellent optical condition and the iris is smooth with no apparent oil in the blades. Do not miss this rare lens. 5 Position Microscope Objective Turret For sale- a five position Microscope Objective Turret. I have NO idea who the manufacturer is so I cannot help you out in terms of applications. I have listed the various better known scope manufacturers in the title for search purposes. But for all I know it doesn’t work with any of their products. The turret appears to be in good/used condition and it does rotate the way it should or the way that I think it should anyway. But scopes in general are not my thing. It’s about 3” in diameter.
