It is intended for work with incident light darkfield as well as normal brightfield. Therefore the central objective is surrounded by an annular condenser/ mirror system to direct light onto the sample. Because of the annular condenser system the objective is equipped with a 26mm thread, considerably larger than the standard RMS thread. As a consequence, they may only be used with a B/D series nosepiece. The objective is of the'finite' series as opposed to infinity systems. It is corrected for a tubelength of 210mm.
