Omnichrome 171B Power Supply -Needs Repair-
A broken Omni 171B 220V input supply for Argon-Krypton Mixed 643 gas laser heads. It needs a new key switch. But most of the main circuit fires up with minimal issues, I do know that something somewhere does need replacing though, as it lightly smokes near the front. Cascade failures are rare in these, so it is likely that something minor needs replacement. It is also good for parts for those who are HV hobbyists. There are plenty of powerful HV capacitors and much more inside. I don't have time to test and fix it. So I'm letting it go to more skilled hands who may actually need it.

This is an odd one. It appears to be some kind of well cooled industrial laser tube. The Brewster window has a small chip on it, but the tube still glows with HV applied. The gas inside glows hot pink when excited with a HeNe power supply. It has one brewster window on one end and a red reflecting mirror on the rear. These were in separate packages and I combined them as a set as I only have these two. I could not find what HBS means. I can only guess it means Harmonic beam splitter. These two optics are very unusual. The 1064nm one reflects white light like a prism. a light bulb reflects double images of red and green. The 532nm one reflects multiple images as well. They are coated on both sides and I thought they could be etalons but don't show any etalon effects with my rudimentary testing. I removed these from aluminum mounts from a YAG laser components lot. Up for grabs is an: Extremely Rare FAP COLLIMATION LENS ASSEMBLY in MOUNT! This is a nicely made lens that screws onto a Coherent 808nm 50W FAP laser diode block or onto a delivery fiber. The laser this is used with looks like a gold block with a SMA connector on one end. It makes it from a flashlight like 60 degree spread to a beam that can be used with normal optics. It will make the beam into a much more manageable spot useful for heat treating and other uses. The base of the lens has scuffing from a failed removal attempt. But it is still usable, the optical surfaces are fine. I have lots of lasers and other unique stuff for sale this week.

This is a very well made AM modulator for a 10-15W synrad laser tube. It is good to 20KHz. It uses a power FET to rapidly modulate the PA of the synrad laser. The hook up is extremely simple. Fuse V+28 to +32V(A bit higher to 38V is fine, but lower than 28V is NOT OK! Bare wire 0V, Center pin of FET is modulation output. It enables output of PA on 5V input to white coax cable. A small 9K NTC thermistor goes across the pins as marked. Really nice item for fixing up an over voltage killed synrad laser, especially one where someone accidentally hooked 30V to the control. or amature radio operator, the pictures speak for themselves! This is a Synrad CO2 laser tube in need of a gas recharge. It is gas intact. But only puts out about 400mw. Zombie laser. The laser tube needs a 30VP 150W 47mHz RF signal to run. When new, it output about 13W of power at 10.6um, and a simple gas refill can make the laser tube good as new. This tube was originally part of a synrad J48-1 for a high end laser coding machine. This is a complete Synrad CO2 laser in need of a gas recharge. It is gas intact. But only puts out about 500mW. Basically lights up and that's it. The laser needs a 30V 7A power supply, and a 5V nominal(optical isolator- 2.5 to 6V is fine) signal to run. When new, it output about 14W of power at 10.6um, and a simple gas refill can make the laser tube good as new. This tube was originally for a high power laser coding machine. This is a used Uniphase model 1125-1133 red helium neon laser head. The power output of the tube is stated to be 10mw. But is likely less, and has not been tested for power output. Also included is a used Hughes Instruments model 437LF4 laser power supply that runs off of 115/230 VAC. Laser head is housed in a machined aluminum tube, and has a shutter to cut off the beam without removing power. Both units are functional as can be seen in the photos. Physical condition is good. There may be some scuffs, scratches, and old label residue present on the tube housing and power supply, but neither affects function. This would make a good science project, or for lab experiments. Melles Griot Helium Neon (HeNe) red laser and power supply
This is a used Melles Griot red helium neon laser head. And Melles Griot 05-LPM-917-065 power supply. The power supply runs off of 115/230 volts AC. It also requires application of a +5vdc source to the TTL leads of the power supply to turn on the laser tube. This can be done with any low current 5vdc source. For test purposes I used two 3 volt lithium batteries as the voltage source, and this worked fine. Power output of the laser tube is unknown, and most likely under 10mw. The laser tube housing is made from machined aluminum, and has a shutter to turn off the beam if power remains connected. The unit is fully functional. Overall condition of the units are good, and other than some scuffs, physically it is very clean. This is a desktop or lab power supply for a helium neon(HeNe) laser. It may be useable for other laser tubes as well. It is marked Hughes Aircraft Company. But is made by Laser Drive. It is a working power supply, and is in very good physical condition. I do not have a key to go with this supply, but unit was tested with another key that I have with another power supply. I had planned on changing out the key switch for a toggle switch, and this would be an easy fix. The switch jack on the back of the power supply is probably jumpered internally, as it is not needed in order to activate the HV output.
