Description A robotics engineer told me that these optic glass pieces are for use in industrial laser equipment. And their original production cost was most likely in the thousands of dollars, but I haven't got a clue as to what they are used for. This is an assorted group of 55 solid glass pieces. And each one is numbered on the edge. They are concave on one side. When you look straight down through any of them, they appear to be opaque or diffuse, but when you view the same surface from an angle, it appears to be a mirrored surface.

This is a collimator lens for an 808nm 50W FAP laser diode block. The laser it is used with looks like a gold block with a SMA connector on one end. This is a very high quality meniscus lens used for DPSS pumping. It can also be used as a workpiece lens for an industrial cutting/burning laser. It has a FL of about 6mm. And will accept beam diameters of up to 9mm. I used one of these to replace a damaged lens in a small industrial micro-welder, and it worked BETTER than the original lens did when it was new! This is the lens used in a high end dpss laser to collimate a 5W pump diode. It could be used with emitters of up to 10W of actual power. Possibly higher, but the lens input diameter is the real limiting factor to power input. The input side is 6.5mm, and the FL is about 3mm. It also has been tested to work very well with high power red laser diodes too. The optical elements in this one were OEM'ed by Coherent, so this is an extreme quality optic!
