I purchased this laser used from the internet several years ago. It does not fully lase but could likely be repaired by someone more motivated. Here's what is included: American laser corp 60x argon head ~650 hours on the hour timer with fan. MWK Industries power supply with key and fan. Cable to connect the two. Status: System powers up- both fans work. AC power indication light lights up. When the keyswitch interlock is engaged. The system tries to lase. Very short flashes of 488nm argon can been seen(and seen across the room, it does lase briefly; this means the mirrors are in alignment) What it needs: Somebody motivated to read the Sam's laser faq extensive section on argon lasers to figure out if it's the power supply or head which is causing this problem. There is a section called"High Pressure Tube Versus Power Supply ... moreProblem" which seems worth a read. But I've not checked any of the steps recommended. Based on the condition and age of this laser. It's sold as-is and is priced accordingly. I'm guessing it will require a bit of service to get online, how much is really unknown. Laser Scanner Galvo X-Y Pair (2), General Scanning, and First Surface Mirrors
This is a pair(2ea) linear motion galvometers that I used for a hobby laser X-Y beam scanner projector in the late 70’s using a HeNe laser before diode were invented/affordable. Yes. The mounts are crude, but it worked great as an amateur experimenter optical bench. I believe these were made by General Scanning by photo comparison only as there are no identification markings on them. These have 4-wires exiting. And I paired them up so that they can be driven directly by an audio amplifier. They are not stepper motors or the resonant type galvo’s. But linear rotary motion motor type(+/ 30 deg maybe) The first surface mirrors were 5- minute epoxied onto the shafts because I could not afford the expensive optical quality mount types with set screws. Note one mirror has broke off in the photo but shows more details on the shaft. I cannot guarantee ... morethe other one won’t come off during shipping) I’m also including a number of thin glass first-surface aluminized mirrors for you to cut/customize and reattach to the galvo shafts or other uses. 445nm HIGH POWER 2W+ blue laser diode w/lens from Casio XJ projector
High power 2 Watt + 445nm laser diode pull from Casio XJ Series projector. The finished laser in pics is not for sale. This is to illustrate how you can build an awesome lab or show laser from your own parts. I was not happy with the heat sinking ability of the little Chinese modules available out there. They use a press in diode mount that does nothing for the other side of the diode. I used two back to back press in diode holders and indium foil. That and more copper plates and a one inch fan. This little monster is more efficient than I thought. After testing for 5 minutes it remained cool to the touch even without the fan! In the first pic I did ad a little smoke as it was taken in daylight. The other pic shows it without the smoke. These are ridiculously powerful and hot! I do NOT recommend building a"pointer" from these. They ... moreare just too dangerous. Even a reflection off a window will bounce 8% of the beam back at you. 4% for each side of the glass. To clarify. At 2 watts that would be 160mw. Enough to blind you quick! Great for light show projectors and lab style lasers. This auction is for one 2 watt + laser diode w/shorting block for esd protection and the lens pulled from the same projector only. They will be shipped in an anti-static bag and foam cushioning. The projector these came from had about 600 hours on it. That leaves around 19.400 hrs left on the diode. The photo through my microscope shows the identifying emblem for the 2 watt lasers on the case. The 2 Watts have a circle above the square where the 1 Watts do not. By bidding you are certifying that you are a minimum of 18 years old. You are responsible for the proper legal and safe use and handling of this device. I recommend you use a driver circuit that has esd protection such as a"lasorb" device and soft start. They require around 5VDC@ 1.8 A max. I’m not sure what it is for. If it is plugged in and the key is turned to the on position, the indicator light comes on and the laser itself get quite warm, but does not emit any visible light. Fiber, pilot(Aiming) laser, pilot laser power supply, focusing head, case, and FAP adapter to allow use of any size fiber length you need! Look at the photos to see how tight of a beam the focus head makes! This unit was originally part of a much larger laser welding machine that was freight damaged. I removed these parts which is all that's needed to make your own welder/cutter, 3D SLS/SLA printer, laser soldering gun. Perfect working condition! Guaranteed not DOA! This is one of those high power Coherent FAP laser diodes that was in a miniature precision welding machine. The diode was used as a spare. and has very low usage. It fits the Optec Mini 2000-30w precision microwelder. 30W at 808nm. It takes about 2.0V at 30A to operate and makes an industrial strength burning laser beam out of the lens on the end. The lens is removable to use on other similar laser diodes. Up for auction is a little piece of laser history. One 20 watt carbon dioxide classIV laser, built by Peter Laakmann from the early days with Electro-Optics. Built about 1982, serial number is 810803B.
