This laser/strobe is in a heavy duty steel chassis case. Similar to the types of chassis and cases that HP and Tektronix builds their very high quality electronic test equipment into. The device is not labeled(no boilerplate) and we don't know who makes it or for what purposes it was made(when we bought it a few years ago, we were told that it originally came from Sandia Labs and used for multi-color laser applications like holography, but we can't verify this) We have had limited uses for it. We do know that the device works fine. And produces a series of extremely brilliant pulsed lights. By adjusting the flash speed way down, it appears to us that red, green and blue flashes occur ... moresuccessively. This device contains what looks like to me three very expensive light sources of different colors and a set up of various mirrors, glass plates that allow half of the light to go through and half to be reflected(half-silvered, filters? and lenses. It has a standard SCSI connector in the back. We have no documentation on it, and we don't know the pin-out of the SCSI, but more than likely, it was for a computer hook-up. Not shown but on center of the bottom of the device is a sturdy steel plate screwed in with a threaded hole, apparently so the device could easily be mounted on a photographic tripod. It is 15.75" x 7" x 5.5" The first image set is of a photo taken from the front while the device was operating. And photos of the front and back of the device when it was turned Off. This is a very nice heatsink assembly that was used in a missile targeting tracker to cool a high end digital camera. it is extreme overkill for it's original application. But would be perfect for cooling high power laser diodes such as the big Coherent FAP laser diode in my other listing. It has an airpax thermostat, a thermistor and a pressure sensor installed. It is made of aluminum and measures about 1-1/2 by 5 inches of usable area. It is a very high quality part that is difficult to find. Synrad CO2 Laser RF AM Modulator Driver Control Board Assembly Ham Radio CB 150W
This is a very well made AM modulator for a 10-15W synrad laser tube. It is good to 20KHz. It uses a power FET to rapidly modulate the PA of the synrad laser. The hook up is extremely simple. Fuse V+28 to +32V(A bit higher to 38V is fine, but lower than 28V is NOT OK! Bare wire 0V, Center pin of FET is modulation output. It enables output of PA on 5V input to white coax cable. A small 9K NTC thermistor goes across the pins as marked. Really nice item for fixing up an over voltage killed synrad laser, especially one where someone accidentally hooked 30V to the control. or amature radio operator, the pictures speak for themselves!
