This is a nice laser diode module that was part of an older micro-array genetic scanner. The module has a modulation/enable input and runs off 12V. This is a red laser diode and associated driver that I removed from a film scanner. It is in working condition. And while I've been unable to locate almost any documentation on either component, the labels on the driver module make it quite usable. I'm including a cable that connects to the basic signals(power, enable, etc) that I removed so it didn't clutter the photos. The one bit of information I was able to find was basically a highly compressed Japanese brochure scan that I can't translate. However. The diode itself is mounted to an optical block, which is in turn mounted to a piece of anodized aluminum with a mirror. Anyways. It's included so all you need is a +/ 5V supply(old ATX computer PSUs include a-5V rail) and you have a working high quality laser diode setup.
