Vintage Horsehide Leather Barnstormer Jacket Coat 1930s RARE Full Length Large
Here's a very rare Full Length horsehide coat from the 1930s. Made by Albert Richard-marked as being horsehide on tag. The leather is amazing: thick and supple with no damage or rot. Very high quality as many of the earlier jackets. This is definitely one of the highest quality horsehides I've owned. Rich reddish brown. I've never seen one of these in the full length version. The only issues are one missing button on chest: you could move one of the higher ones around the neck since they are rarely used. Also the collar has bald patches as does the area on the inside lining near the neck-see photos. A couple of bald areas have small tears. The collar could easily be replaced and the lining patched from behind since there is access to the lining from the bottom of coat. Very soft chamois pocket linings are in great shape as are ... morethe arm linings and wool cuffs. Corduroy lining areas are all in mint condition. Has a buttoned rear vent also. Original belt is in good shape but buckle has some flaws-not pictured. This is one heavy jacket. Super warm for those harsh midwestern and east coast winters. I can't use here in San Diego. So put it to good use! I know the collar is an issue, but the horsehide alone makes this jacket such a beauty. If it doesn't sell I may just have the lining replaced with cotton so at least I can enjoy it. Size is a large. That's what I wear-44-and it fits fine. 1910s 1920s Full Length Striped Apron made from Amoskeag Chambray Downton Abbey
I am not an expert in vintage clothing so please don't hesitate to send me any more questions that you might have. I love this apron and it totally reminds me of one that Mrs. Patmore would wear on Downton Abbey. Overall. The apron looks fantastic. When I first found it, I thought it was new old stock. It must have been washed and starched before storing.it feels crisp. Upon closer inspection I did find a few areas that are stained along the bottom of the apron. Almost the whole lower half of the apron has light yellowing and then some smaller but darker stains. Please see the photos. It sounds like a lot but it is really hard to notice the yellowing. It was also tricky to get the color just right in the photos but it is a denim blue and ivory stripe chambray and still has the original tag from the Amoskeag Company in Manchester, New ... moreHampshire. Very pretty and very antique. Today we have an Edwardian full apron. Measures approx 17 ins right below the bust when laying flat. It is 39 inches long. Would fit most average sizes. I wear a size 10 and it fit me. It is hard to measure. It has embroidered flowers on the front and on the two pockets. It does have some condition issues. There is a pin head size hole on the front bib portion and several holes along the back edge. makes me think that this might have had buttons at one time and someone just ripped them off. The holes are in the right place and of the same size for that to be the case. There are some small brown spots on this too. I have not attempted to wash this so I don't know if they would soak out. The fur is in good condition with no cracking or shedding. There is one small hole on the seam on the underside of the right arm. It is only a half inch long and hard to find. Unfortunately when I tried it on to approximate the size, the left elbow ripped. It doesn't feel dry- but it did rip. I have included a couple pictures. I have easily repaired these in the past, but will leave up to you what you want to do. It is fully lined in dark brown satin with a blue design. The lining is elasticized at the waist and cuffs for warmth. I wear a large size 12 and it is a tad to small for me. I would say it is a solid 10 or small 12. Vintage 1940s Full Length Persian Curly Lamb Coat
This is a vintage fur coat that was my grandmother's that it dates to the 1940s. But maybe before. It is genuine Persian curly lamb fur. There is no tag in the lining. There are front seam/slot pockets. I cannot find a size. But judging by the way it fit my grandmother, I would say it is a size medium. This coat was loved and worn often. It has two hook and eye closures. This pre-owned fur coat shows some wear and lose of fur on the front edges. The fur pelts have come unsewn under the right arm and at the back collar seam. See photos) DETAILS: 1st shows front edge wear and mending. 2nd shows torn lining at bottom edge. 3rd shows where pelts have become unsewn in right under arm. 4th shows where pelts have become unsewn between collar and back. Some of the lining has come loose. There are a few holes in the lining which is very old. The ... morelining has been repaired in several places. It is a sort of swing type style. So might fit either smaller of larger sizes. I would guess it was a 12/14. Vtg 30s Full Length Ivory Taffeta Fishtail Bias Cut Wedding Gown w Rhinestones S
Absolutely stunning vintage taffeta gown with incredible rhinestone detailing. This dress was used for a photo shoot. Which is the source of the primary photo. It is difficult for me to properly date this dress, but my best guess would be early 1930s, perhaps even the late 1920s. It was definitely hand-stitched, though the rhinestones are prong-set. I did conduct the'burn test' and the fiber from this dress melted- indicating it is a synthetic. That leads me to believe it is NOT as early as the 20s in age. Most likely a nylon-derived taffeta. There are a few issues with this dress, most of which I have photographed above. Primarily, the garment has general staining throughout, but much of it is not evident when worn. This piece was dry cleaned, so I do no think the remaining stains will come out. One never knows with soaking, though, ... moreand if you wanted to risk rhinestone loss, you may be able to remove the last of them. The worst of the two are photographed- both smaller in size than a quarter. Amazingly, all of the prong-set rhinestones are intact on this dress, aside from one which is dangling(prong still intact) from a small hole in the fabric. This could potentially be stitched back into place, which would also repair the hole. There are a few of the rhinestones set within the attached fabric belt that have gone missing. This, too, is something that a jeweler can repair if need be. All-in-all, this dress is very wearable, but has a few issues that are to be expected with a garment of this age. No strange odors, though- this is very clean. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. I approximate this dress to be the equivalent of a modern size SMALL. Please see measurements below. Condition: I would consider the condition of this gown to be fair. There is no underarm discoloration or tears and the gown appears to be quite clean. The lining is very sturdy; however. The organza is starting to show signs of age, and thus wearing and splitting is some areas, primarily in the skirt. Vintage 50's Real Persian Curly Lamb Full-Length Black Vintage Coat Size Large
Untitled Document Full-Length Black Vintage Coat Size Large The 50's 60's style coat. Was made in by Norman of Paris and Washington. The black satin lining has a monogram and an embroidered decorative design. Sleeves are slightly belled as is the whole length of the coat. The front has splits on either side over where the knee would be. Above the splits. Are pockets and the coat is closed by the use of fasteners. There are some non-fuctioning buttons along the front edge. Some functional buttons are missing. I believe, because there are large button holes just above the splits. But no buttons. PLEASE be sure to USE the SCROLL BAR next to the photos in order to view all photos. CONDITION: GOOD with some wear and several open seams. The open seams are at the collar(about 4" Along the left pocket(about 2" and the seam of the ... moreleft split(about 7" Photos reveal the lengths of the open seams. It looks like some simple slip stitches would do the trick. Persian Lamb will nearly always have a bit of edge wear at the back of the neck. Cuffs, pocket edges, front edges and around fasteners. You will notice this mostly on the pocket edges. Some edges appear to have ivory-colored hide showing through where the fur has worn off(which can be repaired by dabbing with black leather dye) Although I did not notice bald spots. There might be tiny areas where the curls have split from the hide. Showing ivory-colored skin in little spots. And the same technique would applied here. Coat weighs 5-3/4 pounds! Gorgeous vintage. Red, satin, 3 tier, fish tail/high-low style, strapless, dress. Dress is a thick, medium-heavy, satin. Fitted bodice, full circle skirt. Strapless, corset style, bodice. Bodice has sewn in, plastic, vertical, support bands. Interior of bodice is lined with a red polyester blend fabric. Single rear zipper. Full skirt has three tiers. Top tier is a single layer of thick, ruby red, shiny, satin. 2nd(middle) and 3rd(bottom) tiers are double layers of satin. 2 layers of satin sewn together to form an extra thick layer. There are a couple of pieces of confetti caught between the sheer fabric and the lining.the bride said she did it on purpose but you could take them out. Note damage: Overlaying fabric is shattered'holes under the arm pits but the lining is fine. The gloves have been pinned together so there are pin marks. The veil matches the dress. There is a pin hole in the tiara and the netting should be replaced. I'm sure the new owner will have it professionally cleaned. The first photo is closest to the actual colour- it is a deep rich brown.
