It fits on the front of a Jacobsen front cut. I have included pictures of the blades and overall condition. I would rate the condition as fair to good. I bought it at an auction to use on a Toro Groundsmaster and was going to adapt it. I have since found a flail mower made for my Groundsmaster so I do not need this one. Up for bids is an Oliver 438 Hay Sickle Mower Conditioner- 9' cut 9' cut sickle. Hydraulic lift, one laminated rubber roll and one solid steel roll. Laminated roll has one piece of laminated roll that is popping out(see picture) other than that the rolls are okay. Knives and guards are rusty, but has been sitting blocked up not buried in the dirt. I did take a picture of a drive chain that looks like it has come off, maybe that's why it was parked? I'm really not sure as I know very little about the functionality other than it did work at one time. This old mower conditioner has been sitting for quite a while outside as you can see and is very rusty all over. As such assume that all chains. Adjustments, etc are frozen. Bush Hog 4' SQ480 Compact Tractor mower and John Deere green Ballast Box
I'm listing these for a relative. This is for a Bush Hog brand Squealer SQ480 4' bush hog. This is an actual bush hog brand and isn't some piece of junk you find at your local home farm center. The bush hog has very little use and was used with a small John Deere tractor around 20 HP. This would be great for a small compact tractor. Also. Included is ballast box that is painted john deere green. I'm not sure if this is a factory john deere part, since I couldn't find any markings on the ballast box, but it is in john deere green paint. I'll just sell it as a very high quality HEAVY DUTY aftermarket part. Both of these pieces of farm equipment have had little use and I guess to say the bush hog only has around 150 hours of useage. I bought this mower three years ago thinking it was a Tiger. Since that is the emblem on the cutter head. Turns out it is a Tiger cutter head and an Alamo Versa ditch bank hydraulic drive unit. Someone had put the two together and fabricated brackets to hold a sprocket that spins at the end of the PTO shaft(the big sprocket) and another bracket to hold a sprocket on the end of the main hydraulic power pump. There is also a small idler sprocket in the middle, as you can see in the pictures, to adjust the chain tension. The problem is that the chain puts a sideways pull on the pump sprocket which breaks off the pump drive shaft. I replaced the pump drive shaft once($150 part and a fairly straightforward job that takes about an hour) but it broke again. So what needs to happen(in my opinion) is that two supporting bearings need to be put on ... morethe pump drive shaft- one bearing on either side of the sprocket, instead of just the one support bearing on the inside of the sprocket(which is the present setup) This support on both sides of the pump sprocket should stop the chain from putting undue sideways pull on the drive shaft which will keep the shaft from breaking again. All the hydraulic cylinders work fine and the cutter head works fine- when the pump is fixed, that is. Also the control cables are need to be replaced- one cable controls the angle of the cutter and the other cable controls the height of the mower(you actually do not need to control the height of the mower with the cable because the mower mounts on the tractor's three point hitch which can be used for height control) So you can see that this mower is a bit of a project to get up and running. But I am selling it cheap with no reserve because I do not feel like fooling with it. This machine is heavy duty and kicks butt when it works, but has a weak link, as I have explained.
