The maps are neat and handy, but it could cost you money by not emailing us for a quote. This is a Ford 501 sickle bar mower. It has a 6 foot bar. It is 3 point hitch. Catagory 1, 540 PTO. It has 2 stabilizer clamps. New belt, and a new grassboard. The sickle is hand sharpened and inspected for cracks, bad sections or loose rivets. It is field ready. It will not fit the square lift arms(as on some John Deeres and Cases) It needs a narrow lift arm. And will fit to most any Ford or Ferguson. 7 Ft Blade Bar Ford 501? 3 Point Massey Ferguson Lawn Tractor Sickle Hay Mower
we had a Massey Ferguson tractor and sold i think the sickle mower was a part of and has always been stored inside the barn. The mower looks to be very rusted where the blades are there are a couple of teeth that are broken but i do have 2 other blade bars. The wooden drive shaft is also broken at the sickle end and is a basic maintenance item. I am not also sure about the model number. I really dont no anything about farm equipment i do no about auto mechanics and this mower can be fixed to fun it is still use able. I have never used this mower before. Buyer has to pick this item up i will not ship it. It to big bring a truck and a friend and i'll help as well to load it. Item is located at Ypsilanti. Ford 501 6' 3pt Sickle Mower Hay Straw Tractor Farmall Deere Allis
Up for bids is a Ford 501 6' 3pt Sickle Mower. Came from a local farm that has owned it for a long time. Looks to be fairly complete and decent shape. I did mow with it this past summer. I do know that it will probably need the knives sharpened or replaced and adjusted soon. It is okay for stalky plants but bogs in fine grass. Also. It will need some work on the breakaway couple spring. It is missing a bolt that puts tension on the breakaway latch. Apparently this originally had a stabilizer on it which the previous owner didn't have. Just so you know. I mowed without it okay. Please check out my other items. Ford 501 Sickle Bar Mower - Northeast Ohio
Here is a Ford 501 sickle mower. I thought it would be an easy way to cut my ditch. But it doesn't cut like a finish mower and now I'm back to using the walk-behind. I'm not sure what all the linkages are for. I just used my 2 side pins and top link. I tried to take pictures to show all the included linkages. I think this is about 500 lb. so it is local pickup only. I can load it on your pickup or trailer with my boom pole. Just in case it is not obvious- the tractor is not included. Ford 501 Sickle Bar Mower 7 ft Field Ready
This auction is for a used Ford 501 7ft sickle bar mower in excellent working condition. The photos are taken after I just finished mowing my second cutting of hay. The only prep I did for the photos is sweep off the loose hay. I have used this mower for the past 2 yrs to just mow hay. And am selling it because I bought a bigger mower. The mower has been modified slightly to fit a compact tractor. There was a stabilizer bar I had to remove to fit on the 3 point arms of my 28 hp Kubota. I use the stabilizer bar built into the arms of my 3 point. You can use this mower without any stabilizers on your tractor, but you would feel the vibrations of the mower. I have owned several sickle bar mowers. And this one has worked the best. This is a Ford 501 sickle bar mower. It has a 7' bar. It is catagory 1. 3 point hitch. It is field ready and as you can see in the video. It is in the field mowing. We field test all our mowers. I can't think of a better way for you to see what you are getting. This helps us both out. I know I'm sending you a quality machine, and you know you are buying one. Look for the video at the bottom of the page. These Ford mowers will NOT hook up to square lift arms. Like on some Cases and John Deeres. They were made for the Ford Ferguson system. They will work on many others. As you can see in the video, I'm using an International. I've seen them work on things on ebay that I wouldn't have believed they would work on. I've said for years that they won't mow below horizontal. I still say they won't. But I saw a ... morefellow demonstrating one on ebay the other day. Hooked to some kind of garden tractor. He had the bar hanging over a steep bank, and it looked to be working. If it had been mine it would have broke the pitman rod and no telling what else. They will only mow about 35 degrees up a bank. As the pitman rod will break if it goes up much steeper than that. This mower is described in the video. Except for the following 2 things I forgot to mention: The shield is in place on the PTO. Not only is this for safety. But if you mow tall grass without the PTO shield, you'll spend a lot of time getting the grass off the PTO. The guards are all part number 800. There are a couple of different numbers of Ford guards. I don't like to mix them. I think the sickle does better if they are all the same. It is a bargain at 1095.00 or best offer! Ford 501 Tractor Sickle Mower 3pt Hitch With Extra Knives & Guards NO RESERVE!!
Ford 501 sickle mower. 3pt hitch PTO drive. Looks to be a good mower, just traded in on a bush hog, owner used to use it to mow fields, has lots of extra parts with it, knives, rivets, guards, shown in one of the pictures. As you can see one of the knives needs replaced, but they are provided, just don't have the time to replace before I sell it. Please look at pictures. They are the best way for you to see what you are buying. If you buy the item and you are not happy with it when once you inspect it IN PERSON. You do not have to take it. Cash is the best payment upon pickup. If you are not able to pick it up within two weeks a down payment via paypal of $100 is required.
