Alamo/Tiger ditch bank mower
I bought this mower three years ago thinking it was a Tiger. Since that is the emblem on the cutter head. Turns out it is a Tiger cutter head and an Alamo Versa ditch bank hydraulic drive unit. Someone had put the two together and fabricated brackets to hold a sprocket that spins at the end of the PTO shaft(the big sprocket) and another bracket to hold a sprocket on the end of the main hydraulic power pump. There is also a small idler sprocket in the middle, as you can see in the pictures, to adjust the chain tension. The problem is that the chain puts a sideways pull on the pump sprocket which breaks off the pump drive shaft. I replaced the pump drive shaft once($150 part and a fairly straightforward job that takes about an hour) but it broke again. So what needs to happen(in my opinion) is that two supporting bearings need to be put on ... morethe pump drive shaft- one bearing on either side of the sprocket, instead of just the one support bearing on the inside of the sprocket(which is the present setup) This support on both sides of the pump sprocket should stop the chain from putting undue sideways pull on the drive shaft which will keep the shaft from breaking again. All the hydraulic cylinders work fine and the cutter head works fine- when the pump is fixed, that is. Also the control cables are need to be replaced- one cable controls the angle of the cutter and the other cable controls the height of the mower(you actually do not need to control the height of the mower with the cable because the mower mounts on the tractor's three point hitch which can be used for height control) So you can see that this mower is a bit of a project to get up and running. But I am selling it cheap with no reserve because I do not feel like fooling with it. This machine is heavy duty and kicks butt when it works, but has a weak link, as I have explained. Flail mower mott alamo model 88 74"
This a Mott model 88 flail mower. Last summer we used it and its probably my favorite mower because it does a good job cutting tall grass. Gear box is in working order. End of last summer. I started taking the knives off to replace them. But sold property so got side tracked. So you will need new knives and belt for it. The cover has been missing for a long time. As of now. The belt pulley is missing but if I find it, it will go with the mower. Good luck

The county sold the unit because it was replaced with a new one, it does have some age and use on it but was not replaced because it was a problem or issue just received the funding to get a new one and did just that~ The paint is worn, faded/chipped, it has dings, dents and scratches all over, has a few welds cracked, a few holes or spots through the deck but overall is not in that bad of shape and will cut grass just as it sits, over time will need a little TLC and could stand a few things done to it now but the gear boxes/clutches are good, bearings, etc. still has some life left in it! We have a 60" Alamo industrial Hydraulic operated flail Mower. We planned on fabricating quick detach hook up for our mini excavator. To mow back hedge rows and mow ditch lines. Etc. But sold excavator, so no longer need it. Been a tough winter and now need to sell it. I'm selling it in hopes to get back what I paid for it.
