Vintage Midget Planter Seeder Pat Dec8-14 K-2
Old Cast iron"midget" garden planter that says"Pat. Dec 8-14" K-2" The planter is made of cast iron and steel. This planter has a drive wheel made of steel that is about 8 inches in diameter. T is a furrow opener and also a closing arm that throws dirt on the open seed furrow to close it. The planter has an adjustment mechanism for different seeds such as peas. Beets, onions, lettuce, etc. The planter hooks onto a handle(handle not included) Mechanism that attaches seeder to handle is included. To plant. For auction is a John Deere FBB drill. It is in good condition. It has 16 openers on 8 inch spacings. This makes it about 10' 8" planting width. Its 13' overall. Drill box has 2 compartments. One for seed and one for fertilizer. You can seed and fertilizer at the same time. Boxes are good inside and out. This drill has a power lift. The openers drop when the rope is pulled. Pull again while moving and the power of the wheels will lift the openers. No hydraulic cylinder is needed. Therefore, it could be pulled by a pickup or larger atv. Drill meters are driven by drills wheels. It pulls easily. Because of its size, this drill would work good for the small farm or food plot guy. Look at the photo of the seed charts(located on bottom side of lid of both boxes) to determine what it will plant. Would also plant other similar sized ... moreseeds. The firming wheels dont match but doesn't afect performance in any way. Would work great for food plots.Sweetcorn or filling in rows your big planter missed. John Deere 7000 planter 4 row narrow 30 inch rows, field ready
Nice little John Deere 7000 4 row 30 inch narrow row planter. I bought it early last year hoping to rent a little ground and do a bit of hobby farming. It didn't work out that I could rent any ground last year or this year so I have decided to sell the planter and give my dad back some shed space. The planter is fully serviced and everything works great- all you need to do is set the population add seed and go to the field. This planter was a wide row from the factory. The only difference is in the axle and the markers. The frame is the same, so a previous owner shortened up the axle and the marker tubes. The workmanship is excellent- take a look at the picture of the axle. It was saw cut- not torched, set to the right width and a telescoping pipe slid over the joint for strength. Look at the quality of the welds- it may not be factory ... moreJohn Deere, but its done absolutely right. The disk openers are nearly new- the beveled edge is very distinct and they measure 15 inches. The scrapers behind the gauge wheels were new at the same time. They show almost no wear. I replaced one gauge wheel bearing and shimmed all of them to ride as close to the disks as possible. The seed hoppers are brand new poly with new lids. There are corn meters installed and they were disassembled, cleaned, and set back to the correct tension on the finger assembly. The markers alternate every cycle as they should. I had all the chains off the planter. There are no stiff links and all chains are lubricated. I also took the spring loaded tensioners off the row units and cleaned the stiff grease and dirt out so they all work like they were designed to. I planted a little bit of corn in the hay field and all rows are working well and dropping accurately. The planter has the wavy coulters mounted ahead of the rows so it could be used in minimum tillage conditions. I do have a set of bean cups that will be included. I haven't tried to use them, and a couple of them are stiff turning. Two of them have cracked tubes that have electrical tape

Here is my web site(still under construction) For auction is a John Deere 3 row planter equipped with model 7000/ 7100 row units. Planter is in good condition. Row width is set at 30" which is the most common but could be adjusted. This is a 3 point mounted planter with cat 1 pins. Brackets are bolted on and are adjustable. Pins on brackets are low enough so that planter can be raised high enough out of the ground. Even for lower compact tractors. This is a hydraulic driven planter. I have seen these built before but never with any adjustment. I built this with a hydaulic motor and a hydraulic flow control valve with bypass return. This allows it to be used with a tractor that has a open center or closed center hydraulic system. Most of your compact tractors have open center systems. This will work with any tractor that has hydraulic ... morecapabilities. It also allows you to adjust the seeding rate to any seed population desired. This set up eliminates the drive tire and drive tire chain/sprockets. You can also slide your row units closer together if wanted for narrower row spacings since there is no tire in the center. Another nice feature is that you can turn your meters while driving and lift the planter out of the ground to see what kind of seed spacing you are getting. Seeding depth is adjustable with the quick adjust T handle. Planter has truvee openers with dual guage wheels for accurate seed placement. Press wheels have quick adjust down pressure. Seed tubes have sensors installed so that if a monitor wanted to be added at a later date. It could easily be done. Boxes have corn meters installed. Can be fitted with optional milo or soybean meters. Takes about a minute per row to change. I sell the bean meters for $50 per row, add $25 per row if you want milo also. options: I can install insecticide boxes(rear box that sets behind the seed box) for $100 each.
