IH 6 or 7 foot SICKLE BAR Hay Mow International Harvester head blade section 88"
Sickle hay mowing bar. Several blades are marked with"H" in circle and some say"Made in UK" I am not an expert on farm equipment. Head is marked"IH" in a circle and has numbers"MA139" Pretty sure this is International Harvester. All holes for head mount have a corresponding hole in the bar. The last hole in the head lands on the half hole at end of the bar. Knives are 3 inch wide and 3 1/4 inch long with holes 2 inch on center. The knives run for 6 feet(72 inches) and then with the head attached the unit is 88 1/2 inches long overall. More knife blades probally need to be added since I am fairly sure that this is a 7 foot cut bar. Has a 5/16" hole in top of head knob and a 3/16 hole in side of head knob. Rust. Aging, and wear as would be expected on this old of an item, still sound. I do not see ... moreany serious damage, it probally needs some blades added near/under the head. Some or all knives might need sharpened. See photos for cosmetic condition. It is in as found condition. Except for a light cleaning and it will look even better if properly cleaned. These are extremely well made decks manufactured for John Deere, although they will fit any tractor with a standard 3 point hitch and 540 PTO. Bush Hog, model 306 heavy duty 6 foot bushhog
This is a really heavy duty bush hog brand cutter. I bought it new in 1998 and have used it every year since on my farm. It has a stump jumper and a substantial gear box. I replaced the blades several years ago and they are still OK. Might need some sharpening as it has been 2 years since I sharpened them. It has been used in some rocky terrain and has some bumps and dents to show for it. Runs perfectly and I used it last in September. I am not an equipment dealer. John Deere 603 - 6 foot brush hog
Looks rough. But works. If you need a brush hog for that nasty spot, this is it. It can do an open field or take it in the woods. You can see the circle on the top where the blades have banged up. Needs a little TLC and it could the the prize of your collection! Gear box and PTO are good, functions well except for the rear wheel- you could bend it back or replace it. Rear metal is also pushed in from backing into some stumps. I bought all 10 foot mowers so that my kids can't get them to their deer stands! Gear box and PTO alone are worth $300!
