JOHN DEERE (FRONTIER) GM3072 REAR MOUNT 3PT. FINISH MOWER 72"
I bought this mower with a tractor that I have since sold. It is a Frontier. Sold by John Deere, GM 3072 rear mount 3 pt. finish mower. It is around a 2009 and the tractor it came here with had 100 hours use and they didn't just mow with the tractor, so there is less time than that on the mower. The mower has been kept under cover and has a 72" cut. Has a couple of flat gauge tires from sitting, but it is in great condition and has had very little use. Land Pride Finishing Mower 11 ft.
Photos at the end are of the grass after using this mower. First one is this year, others are from a couple years ago. We bought this in 2003 or 2004. It wasn't used much from 2005 till 2008 and then not every time we mowed. The best thing about this mower is that it is FAST and it doesn't windrow. If you cut foot tall grass it may not be quite as even as the photos but it's close. New gearbox on one of the wings a couple years ago. One new belt this summer and all new blades. I think we have a couple more belts we will throw in with it. We have used a 560 Farmall to pull it. Husband says it takes a tractor at least 40 hp. This is an International Harvester 1300 sickle bar mower. It has a 7' bar. It is catagory 1. 3 point hitch. This is another one of my outstanding mowers that I've been listing on ebay for 9 years now. I have completely gone through this mower. It runs out quiet and smooth! We've added a video clip of this mower mowing. It has a new shield on the PTO shaft. That is for safety's sake. And to keep grass from wrapping up on it, so that you don't have to spend your time getting the grass off the shaft. If you don't believe me, buy one without a shield and cut some thick grass. It has a new belt. New double guards, new sickle sections(blades) new wear plates, new sickle bar hold down clamps, and a new grassboard(some call it a swathboard, but the folks who make them call them a grassboard) Notice what good shape the skit ... moreshoes are in. The guards and the shoes are put on with lock nuts. So they won't shake loose. Never put guards or shoes on with regular nuts-they'll come right loose. That is something to watch for on these mowers. A copy of the manual will be included with this mower. These mowers will mow about 70 degrees below horizontal and will mow vertical. The 1300 is my personal preference. They are tough. And IH just got the mechanics right when they made them. I can just claim over 50 years experience with these mowers. Since there is only one of me. I'm 67 years old and started running sickle bars at about age 10, with a side mount on an 8N Ford. These mowers are good for around pond banks. 917 - 22-184 Series Ford Flail Mower
This is a Flail mower designed to operate on tractors up to 50 HP. Used to mow parks and golf courses and is especially effective on large yards and pastures. The offset on the 3PT hitch allows it to extend past the right rear tire allowing close cutting next to fences. It is of heavy duty construction is easy to maintain. It was purchased to use behind a L285 Kubota but is heavier than the tractor can efficiently handle. It has been stored in a shed since I bought it with limited use. I have a few too many trees to dodge and cut around. The actual width of the cutting area is 74" or 6' 2" as stated in the owners manual. The mower is equipped with two types of grass knives. Sheep's foot and rough cut knives. I have cut small 1- 2" saplings and branches. I did not put hammers or de thatch knives since I was cutting grass ... moreonly for the most part. I do have some extra blades and other supplies and a owners manual to go with it. Any questions will be answered promptly.
