IH 6 or 7 foot SICKLE BAR Hay Mow International Harvester head blade section 88"
Sickle hay mowing bar. Several blades are marked with"H" in circle and some say"Made in UK" I am not an expert on farm equipment. Head is marked"IH" in a circle and has numbers"MA139" Pretty sure this is International Harvester. All holes for head mount have a corresponding hole in the bar. The last hole in the head lands on the half hole at end of the bar. Knives are 3 inch wide and 3 1/4 inch long with holes 2 inch on center. The knives run for 6 feet(72 inches) and then with the head attached the unit is 88 1/2 inches long overall. More knife blades probally need to be added since I am fairly sure that this is a 7 foot cut bar. Has a 5/16" hole in top of head knob and a 3/16 hole in side of head knob. Rust. Aging, and wear as would be expected on this old of an item, still sound. I do not see ... moreany serious damage, it probally needs some blades added near/under the head. Some or all knives might need sharpened. See photos for cosmetic condition. It is in as found condition. Except for a light cleaning and it will look even better if properly cleaned. You are bidding on a New Holland 451 sickle mower with a 7' bar. It is in 100% ready to go condition. It has a great sickle. Really good guards, and the inside and outside shoes are in really good shape. It has a new belt. The pto shaft, pto shaft guards, and u-joints are in good condition. All of the pivot points throughout the machine are in really good shape. I take advantage of a machine like this when I get one in and mow my banks and anything that requires a lot of angle out of the bar. This is what you call a balanced head machine. Which means that it will cut in any position. It is in shape and is absolutely ready to go cut hay. If you are looking at this mower, you might have already been to your local dealership and found that they are not scared to ask $2000 to $2500 for one similar to this that is more than likely a worn out ... moretrade-in. I have personally gone through this machine, used it, and it will no doubt be one of the smoothest running machines that I sell in 2013. The section shown in picture# 10 is the condition of the entire sickle. Take a good look at picture# 7. You will see a bracket with a pulley bolted to it and a cable running around the pulley. This bracket has been broken off or is almost broken off, on 50% of the mowers that I buy, as well as the bracket shown at the center of the picture that has the large spring attached to it. I am basically pointing this out because the ones on this machine are not and have never been broken. This mower is in really good condition. I keep about ten or twelve feet on each side of my lane and about five acres mowed down real nice. I let it grow up to about five to seven inches tall and I cut it down to about three inches tall with these mowers. I am pointing this out because if you have ever used a sickle mower. You know that it is not an easy task to get one to cut grass that is only five inches tall. When you have one that will cut like that, it makes it very versatile. This mower worked great for us. We are able to upgrade to a mower-conditioner and I have a brush hog for the fields we don't harvest- so we don't need this one. It is an International 1300 sickle mower with a 7' bar. It is ready to go. In fact I have used it this year. It has BRAND NEW KNIVES on the sickle bar last year. Guards. Shoes, PTO shaft, U-Joint, belts and lift are all also in great shape. This mower has all the guards in place. If you are looking for something to cut a field. Cut your ditch bank, or to cut Hay for crop, this mower is READY TO GO. The IH 1300 is very user friendly to maintain having bolts and nuts to replace the knives(no rivets) and a belt drive. Knives can be replaced 1 at a time if needed. COMES WITH SPARE KNIVES, and some bolts. It connects up to your 3-point hitch easy, folds up for travel, and swings ... moredown with ease. The lift arm operates VERY EASY compared to the ford, or other mowers that have a contraption of chains to lift and lower the mower and cutter. 7 Ft Blade Bar Ford 501? 3 Point Massey Ferguson Lawn Tractor Sickle Hay Mower
we had a Massey Ferguson tractor and sold i think the sickle mower was a part of and has always been stored inside the barn. The mower looks to be very rusted where the blades are there are a couple of teeth that are broken but i do have 2 other blade bars. The wooden drive shaft is also broken at the sickle end and is a basic maintenance item. I am not also sure about the model number. I really dont no anything about farm equipment i do no about auto mechanics and this mower can be fixed to fun it is still use able. I have never used this mower before. And the mounting bar is marked 640607 and has some other numbers I can’t make out. It is 90” long and the hole at the end takes a 1” shaft. When I got it someone had written IH 7’ 998 Hay Bar. Lot of 3 Old sickle hay mowing bars. These are all broke short on the head ends. Tail ends look factory. May be good for parts or may only be good for vintage farm display. All 3 are set up for 3 inch wide knives with holes 2 inch on center. 72 inch with ford knives 63 inch with Ford knives. 57 inch has rust pitting and I can't read names on any knives. New Holand Sickle bar mower trailer style, Hay cutter
I have a New Holand trailer style sickle bar mower that I no longer need. I bought it from an estate this past spring we were told it has not been used in two years. Since we bought it we found a tractor mounted sickle and are using that instead of this one. The only problem I know of is it needs one new hydraulic hose for the lift cyl. The bar is seven foot cut with hydraulic raise and lower it is PTO drive and takes very little horse power to operate. Buyer must pay Pa sales tax and pick up in Pennsburg Pa 18073, payment due in 7 days and pick up with in 10 days unless prior arrangements have been made. Sold as is with now warranty and no returns. I have a loader here and can load on your truck or trailer. Paper money at pick up is my favorite.
