IH 6 or 7 foot SICKLE BAR Hay Mow International Harvester head blade section 88"
Sickle hay mowing bar. Several blades are marked with"H" in circle and some say"Made in UK" I am not an expert on farm equipment. Head is marked"IH" in a circle and has numbers"MA139" Pretty sure this is International Harvester. All holes for head mount have a corresponding hole in the bar. The last hole in the head lands on the half hole at end of the bar. Knives are 3 inch wide and 3 1/4 inch long with holes 2 inch on center. The knives run for 6 feet(72 inches) and then with the head attached the unit is 88 1/2 inches long overall. More knife blades probally need to be added since I am fairly sure that this is a 7 foot cut bar. Has a 5/16" hole in top of head knob and a 3/16 hole in side of head knob. Rust. Aging, and wear as would be expected on this old of an item, still sound. I do not see ... moreany serious damage, it probally needs some blades added near/under the head. Some or all knives might need sharpened. See photos for cosmetic condition. It is in as found condition. Except for a light cleaning and it will look even better if properly cleaned. You are bidding on an International 1300 sickle mower with a 7' bar. It is in 100% ready to go condition. It has a great sickle. Excellent guards, and the inside and outside shoes are in really good shape. The belt is same as new. The pto shaft and u-joints are in perfect condition. All of the pivot points throughout the machine are in really good shape. I take advantage of a machine like this when I get one in and mow my banks and anything that requires a lot of angle out of the bar. This is what you call a balanced head machine. Which means that it will cut in any position. It is in shape and is absolutely ready to go cut hay. If you are looking at this mower, you might have already been to your local dealership and found that they are not scared to ask $2000 to $2500 for one similar to this that is more than likely a worn out trade-in. ... moreI have personally gone through this machine, used it, and it will no doubt be one of the smoothest running machines that I sell in 2013. You can get a good view of the condition of the sickle in picture#7. I keep about ten or twelve feet on each side of my lane and about five acres mowed down real nice. I let it grow up to about five to seven inches tall and I cut it down to about three inches tall with these mowers. I am pointing this out because if you have ever used a sickle mower. You know that it is not an easy task to get one to cut grass that is only five inches tall. When you have one that will cut like that, it makes it very versatile. Pictures#11 and12 show it mowing along a pretty steep pond bank. It will go lower than that and it will operate straight up in the air. This mower is ready to hook up and go cut hay or just maintain your land. You have to do nothing but hook it up. Which by the way, this is by far the easiest sickle mower to hook up that you can buy. This is an IH 1300 sickle bar mower. It has a 7 foot bar. It is 3 point hitch. Catagory 1, 540 PTO. It is a local mower. Field ready, solid machine. A copy of the manual will be included with this mower. This mower has a new grassboard. New sickle sections, new double guards, new wearplates, new sickle bar hold down clamps, and a new shield on the PTO. Shields are very important, not only for safety, but also because sickle bar mowers, when mowing in thick grass without the PTO shield, will wind grass up on the PTO shaft. Then you get to spend a bunch of your day getting it off! It won't happen with this one, as it has the shield in place. This mower is serviced and ready to go! And the mounting bar is marked 640607 and has some other numbers I can’t make out. It is 90” long and the hole at the end takes a 1” shaft. When I got it someone had written IH 7’ 998 Hay Bar. It is in very good condition. Please note that most of the items I have for sale are used/vintage goods. You should expect some wear or minor imperfections.
