You are bidding on a New Holland 451 sickle mower with a 7' bar. It is in 100% ready to go condition. It has a great sickle. Really good guards, and the inside and outside shoes are in really good shape. It has a new belt. The pto shaft, pto shaft guards, and u-joints are in good condition. All of the pivot points throughout the machine are in really good shape. I take advantage of a machine like this when I get one in and mow my banks and anything that requires a lot of angle out of the bar. This is what you call a balanced head machine. Which means that it will cut in any position. It is in shape and is absolutely ready to go cut hay. If you are looking at this mower, you might have already been to your local dealership and found that they are not scared to ask $2000 to $2500 for one similar to this that is more than likely a worn out ... moretrade-in. I have personally gone through this machine, used it, and it will no doubt be one of the smoothest running machines that I sell in 2013. The section shown in picture# 10 is the condition of the entire sickle. Take a good look at picture# 7. You will see a bracket with a pulley bolted to it and a cable running around the pulley. This bracket has been broken off or is almost broken off, on 50% of the mowers that I buy, as well as the bracket shown at the center of the picture that has the large spring attached to it. I am basically pointing this out because the ones on this machine are not and have never been broken. This mower is in really good condition. I keep about ten or twelve feet on each side of my lane and about five acres mowed down real nice. I let it grow up to about five to seven inches tall and I cut it down to about three inches tall with these mowers. I am pointing this out because if you have ever used a sickle mower. You know that it is not an easy task to get one to cut grass that is only five inches tall. When you have one that will cut like that, it makes it very versatile. Just about new guards, and the inside and outside shoes are in really good shape. It has a new belt. The pto shaft, pto shaft guards, and u-joints are in good condition. All of the pivot points throughout the machine are in really good shape. I take advantage of a machine like this when I get one in and mow my banks and anything that requires a lot of angle out of the bar. This is what you call a balanced head machine. Which means that it will cut in any position. It is in shape and is absolutely ready to go cut hay. I have used this thing around here about every four or five days for two weeks now and this mower is in really good condition. I keep about ten or twelve feet on each side of my lane and about five acres mowed down real nice. I let it grow up to about five to seven inches tall and I cut it down to about three inches tall with these mowers. I am pointing this out because if you have ever used a sickle mower. You know that it is not an easy task to get one to cut grass that is only five inches tall. When you have one that will cut like that, it makes it very versatile. John Deere Frontier SB 1106 Sickle Bar Mower
Here is a sickle bar mower I bought new back in 2007 when I was cutting about 10 acres of hay. The neighbor was boarding horses. So we wanted a mower which cut cleanly. In 2010, he gave up boarding other people's horses and has more than enough pasture for his three. The hayfields were fenced in and cows now live there. I had sold the other haying equipment in 2010, but kept the sickle bar mower. Well. Here we are in 2014 and it just sits in the tractor shed collecting dust. I had thought I might use it quite a bit as a utility mower, but really do not. It is in almost new condition, given that it cut ten acres of hay three times a year. It still has the original cutters on the first cutter bar, barely worn. It came with a spare bar when new, which simply has been sitting on the shelf in the shed since I brought it home. The idea is to ... moreswap the bars out when the time comes to replace the cutters, but that has not been necessary. You can see the spare bar in the next to last shot. This is a really good mower. As it has the hydraulic lift cylinder. You can use that as shown, in a utility mode that lets you cut from +90 degrees down to-75 degrees(such as pond banks) There is a lock unit that swings down over the lift cylinder shaft which will reduce the amount which the bar picks up. This makes the cylinder pull the entire bar up off the ground for fast lift for row-end turns when cutting hay. Nice. This is the aluminum'U' bracket sticking up on the cylinder in the photos. The mower has adjustment for tractors both narrower and wider than the one I have. Which is a 45 PTO HP machine. Obviously, the mower is mounted on the tractor to pull it out of the shed and into the light. I am selling only the mower and PTO shaft. In all but the last photo. The mower parking stands(two of them) are on the top of the unit, in the mowing positions. They are moved into the bottom positions, which is for holding it up when removed from the tractor. This is a Massey Ferguson model 32 sickle bar mower with a 6' bar. It is catagory 1. 3 point hitch. If you will watch the video. You will see that it is field ready! IH 1300 sickle bar mower 7' works/w Ford NH Kubota Massey Case FREE Ship VIDEO
This is an International Harvester 1300 sickle bar mower. It has a 7' bar. It is catagory 1. 3 point hitch. This is another one of my outstanding mowers that I've been listing on ebay for 9 years now. I have completely gone through this mower. It runs out quiet and smooth! We've added a video clip of this mower mowing. It has a new shield on the PTO shaft. That is for safety's sake. And to keep grass from wrapping up on it, so that you don't have to spend your time getting the grass off the shaft. If you don't believe me, buy one without a shield and cut some thick grass. It has a new belt. New double guards, new sickle sections(blades) new wear plates, new sickle bar hold down clamps, and a new grassboard(some call it a swathboard, but the folks who make them call them a grassboard) Notice what good shape the skit ... moreshoes are in. The guards and the shoes are put on with lock nuts. So they won't shake loose. Never put guards or shoes on with regular nuts-they'll come right loose. That is something to watch for on these mowers. A copy of the manual will be included with this mower. These mowers will mow about 70 degrees below horizontal and will mow vertical. The 1300 is my personal preference. They are tough. And IH just got the mechanics right when they made them. I can just claim over 50 years experience with these mowers. Since there is only one of me. I'm 67 years old and started running sickle bars at about age 10, with a side mount on an 8N Ford. These mowers are good for around pond banks.
