Dual pitch(either 10 or 12 spaces per inch) and line-and-a-half vertical spacing. Like its predecessor. The Selectric II was available in standard and wide-carriage sizes and in various colors, including red and blue as well as traditional neutral colors. The Selectric II used the same typeballs, which were available in many fonts, including symbols for science and mathematics, script, Old English, and more than a dozen ordinary alphabets. The typeballs came in two styles: One had a flip-up black plastic lever that could break off, and the other had a metal spring clip with two wire wings that squeezed together and did not break. Over the years, there were several different cartridge styles for the ribbons, even in the same model Selectric, and they were not interchangeable. In 1973 the Correcting Selectric II was announced. It added an internal correction feature to the Selectric II. Intended to eliminate the need for typists to use cover-up tape, white-out" correction fluid, or typewriter erasers. The carriage on this machine held both the main typing ribbon cartridge and two small spools for a correction ribbon. A new ribbon type, the Correctable Film ribbon, was introduced at the same time. Up for auction is a used Selectric II that is in good physical condition. There are a couple scratches and scuff marks on the casing. But it is otherwise undamaged. For more information on the cosmetic condition please refer to the pictures below. We plugged this typewriter in and flipped the switch. We tried to type something and noticed their was no ribbon installed. We than tried to install a new one. But couldn't get it to sit right. It might just be installed wrong. Very good condition. Works perfect. Types and erases. New ribbon in package. Cover is super rare. Extremely impressive condition. That being said. It does have a few scratches where paint finish is harmed(lost the gloss) but they are only visible at certain angles. Easily touch-up-able. The picture looking straight at the keyboard has a noticeable white spot on the right front edge. it is white-out, is easily removable.

Selling a used Selectric typewriter cover with logo. It fits my Selectric 1 in terms of width and depth. But is a bit tall. Dimensions are: 15 1/2 inches wide, approx. 16 inches deep and 10 inches tall. The seams are completely intact all around. It does have some very small cracks, the largest three being just under an inch. The plastic is still flexible. There are some other minor blemishes since this is a used cover. But still has a lot of life left. The two type balls are Courier and Bookface, both are marked"72" and"10" with solid triangles. They are used, but functional. This is a great old machine! It's not often you see a typewriter that is bright red. I don't think I know how to use this correctly. I was able to type the message you can see in the third picture. But now I can't get it to type anything else and I don't know why. Maybe it needs oil, maybe it's a user error because I don't know what I'm doing… it comes with one box of extra ink and three boxes of extra correcting tape a.k.a. lift off tape. A really great find.
