Bother made many many different models of electronic portable typewriters from the 1980s on. And still produces them, using the same ribbons, same correction tapes, and same print wheels. They have changed the case style a few times, and have added more features, but the insides are essentially the same! They have changed the case style a few times, and have added more features, but the insides are essentially the same! This has carrying handle is molded into the back, suitable for home or office. This is a currently available model; still being sold new by Office Max. Amazon, etc. list price new is $119.95. It works just great as a"Plain Vanilla Typewriter" but has a huge array of extras. Such as spell checking, correction memory for individual letters up to the entire line. Bold, Underline, variable line ... morespacing, 10-12 cpi letter spacing. And lots more, all explained in the manual. This model was manufactured at Brother's Tennessee plant; many of their current models are now manufactured in the far east. I purchased this typewriter new. From Sears, in the early 1980s, and didn't use it much, about six times. Since my first computer acquisition in the late 1980s I've used it only twice. It's in excellent condition and still functions like new. It comes with the original manual, a protective cover, and and handy folding carry handle. The power cord stores away in the wrap at the rear. This machine was made by Smith Corona, and is exactly the same as their H Series. All parts and supplies are the same as the Sears marked. It uses both a print cassette and a correcting cassette; both of which are available online. It has many features. So many, in fact, too many to mention.
