Dual pitch(either 10 or 12 spaces per inch) and line-and-a-half vertical spacing. Like its predecessor. The Selectric II was available in standard and wide-carriage sizes and in various colors, including red and blue as well as traditional neutral colors. The Selectric II used the same typeballs, which were available in many fonts, including symbols for science and mathematics, script, Old English, and more than a dozen ordinary alphabets. The typeballs came in two styles: One had a flip-up black plastic lever that could break off, and the other had a metal spring clip with two wire wings that squeezed together and did not break. At some point it stopped working. Cosmetically. It is in very nice condition. As you can see in my third photo. The thin metal tape that pulls on the ball to make it rotate is either broken or has come undone. In addition to that it most certainly needs a new ribbon and a good cleaning and may very well have other issues I am not aware of. It powers up and the motor runs. But it simply is not functioning. Cleaned outside well and blew out inside with spray cleaning air. Some ink stains are on the turn paper reel. When power return button is pushed, the power cartridge slide return goes a little slowly back to the left to the starting point. Slides nice and smooth when done manually. Excellent brand typewriter with lots of capabilities. Such as very fast typing, memory codes, special print modes, correction modes, automatic correction, easy to use, lightweight, DaisyWheel printing. It has a handle for carrying and a storage compartment with a cover for the power cord. I tested it and printed all characters. The imprint is strong and crisp. It works great. It has many functions. Too many to list. I have and can email the manual in PDF file. The typewriter will do everything you need. The cartridge will last a long time. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy it. Smith Corona- DeVille 450- Electric Typewriter- Word Correction- CLEAN- Tested OK. This is a used and working typewriter. It has a removable hard cover for storage and dust protection. I believe it was used a lot because the inside area where all the electronics are is very clean. It has a retractable carry handle and a recessed area to wind up the power cord. Please use the picture of the top of the unit to read the label that states all the features. The cover has a little glue residue from an old sticker or something. People use computers for just about everything but for a quick memo to fax somewhere. This is a good idea. I take pictures of the actual item(s) I am listing.
