Extremely clean and well cared for, all metal parts are/were originally painted. Apparatus base at head of tripod is brass, wood legs look to be maple(we think? Impressive bottom"talons. Original leather strap with buckle. Bag with many little misc parts, brass screws, brass knobs. Of note in the parts bag is a wingnut style hex key for adjusting bolts on the tripod, and a little vial(for lack of a better word) which unscrews to reveal a needle-type tool- both items brass. Included in this listing: Wild T1 Theodolite w/ optical plumb Bullet case Matching Tripod Plumb bob, Original manual, CHECK my other listings for matching diagonal eyepiece set(high elevation and microscope) Optics are all clear and focus well. All knobs turn smoothly. The brass lens cap is in good shape and fits snugly. Bullet case has some dents and scratches but mates up and latches securely; leather strap/handle is broken. Absolutely. Gorgeous Wild T2 Theodolite with tripod stand. However, the Tribrach is damaged and snapped off the corner. Also, the case is missing. The part is easily fixed. But, I'm upgrading to GPS and need the cash quick. I really hate to get rid of it as I've had it for sometime and never planned on selling it. All of the optical devices are in perfect condition. The instrument shows little slightly worn. As it add's character if you were to ask me. The SN# 28544 makes me believe it was produced in one of those two years 50 or 51. From the research I've done. Kern Swiss K1-A Theodolite with Case & Center Tripod Post
Kern model K1-A Theodolite. I work at an engineering firm. And we have had this unit in storage for a long time. There are some water spots on the front glass element(shown in photo) I did take a photo looking through the eyepiece with a cell phone(showing power lines and distant mountain) The water spots do not seem to adversely effect image quality. Another photo shows the mountain which can be seen in the photo taken through the eyepiece with my phone to illustrate zoom scale. I really do not know how this piece of equipment works. But i t appears to be in good working order. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like me to test anything. Comes inside of a metal case with leather carrying strap and metal latches. The metal case fits inside of the padded transport case. Also included is the center pole WITHOUT the tripod ... morelegs.
